I am not really an expert on crowns, and the styles mix often throughout history, as you do see many Kings wear rounded crowns as well, so I am not sure what in particular makes ours female. From some quick google searches, I see our old and current crown worn by both genders throughout history.

Regardless, purple is the color of royalty, the uniform is what we used for decades until we changed it on a whim for marketing reasons due to Gretzky, and it is unique amongst the league. The color scheme just made sense.

I am not overly bothered by the modern uniforms, but they make little sense and the logo is pretty abysmal. It would just be nice to go back to our little niche rather than some sort of 90's ad campaign to be "edgy" and "cool."

Hawks and Sharks tied at 1. Go Hawks, since they're miles ahead of us anyway.

EDIT: 2-1 Hawks.

I'm sure there's examples showing both sides, but everything I look up shows that style of crown as a king's crown.

Thanks for posting those.

I can't believe that there are gender specific crowns and am pretty certain that there are't too many hockey fans that would care either but there you go.

Our crowns are boy crowns.

ok?

Guppies lose! Guppies lose!

They are just giving away second place. We have to take advantage. Just 3 points behind them. And more importantly, the ****ing Quacks are out of the record book!

EDIT: What did Clowe do?

Came off the bench and went after Shaw after Shaw hit Pavelski from behind, and Pavelski was fine.

What's that? Clowe playing from the bench when he shouldn't? That's odd...

Poor Sharks. Team has only missed the playoffs once since drafting Patrick Marleau 16 years ago. Just never had the right pieces for playoff success, and I think it's fair to say that window has shut for them.

And to add insult to injury the Kings and Ducks have both won championships during the Marleau/Thornton era despite not having nearly as many good teams. The Kings have missed the playoffs 7 times since 1997 and the Ducks have missed 6 times compared to the Sharks one.

They had pieces in 2004 and 2010 to be a cup winner ,, Problem was they ran into a cinderella Flame team in 04 and a Hawks team firing on all cylinders in 2010

If Clowe actually came off bench, it's an automatic 10 game ban.

Let Chicago dominate now, and we can just go on another hot run in the playoffs win another fluke cup.

Tuned in to watch Devils-WSH on NHL Network, but got blacked out since I'm in the NYC area.

Instead, I get to watch "LA KINGS MARCH TO THE STANLEY CUP"

You'd want them coming off the bench to attack a player?

I thought it was quite obvious he came off the bench to go after Shaw.

Why have the 10-gm suspension rule if they don't enforce it?

I've never seen it called because no one actually do this anymore (but I've never seen them enforce the hypothetical "playing the puck from the bench" rule either )

I think they at saying it was a line change. But instigating a fight at the end of a game used to be a 1 game suspension. But this is clowe we are talking about the guy can get away with playing d and tipping a puck away from the bench, so he probably will get away with this ha

Eric Godard got 10 games 2 years ago during that big Penguins and Islanders Brawl. Haley of the Islanders skated the length of the ice to get at Pens goalie Brent Johnson. Godard came right off the bench to intercept him and got 10 games.
