yea, unless we draft a mackinnon or barkov ive been saying mcdonald for a while now. if we were to potentially draft mackinnon or barkov (you never know, especially with where we're at) then they could potentially play next season. if we draft monahan, or lindholm, i could see us signing mcdonald if available for 1 or 2 years. if we draft drouin, or any non-center, then perhaps 2 or 3 years to mcdonald (more comfortable with 2). theres also ribeiro, roy, bozak, and antropov.
Of the guys listed, I think Antropov would add something different to the team. We really need some size. I like him as a short-term fit, but that's just my opinion.

No way, just no. Antropov is just a center version of Kovalev. Frustrating as hell to watch.

But only because of the size. Otherwise I would not acquire him.
With the season now more than a third over, we are pretty much cooked in terms of making the playoffs. Bringing up Markstrom suggests that Tallon agrees that it is time to build for the future.
I suggest that we recognize that we should be active at the TDL. My list includes Kuba (for a bag of pucks), Smithson, etc.
Trade Theodore for forward and let Markström start most of the games.
He has a NTC, Weiss I believe has a NMC. Both would have to approve a trade, and is much rather move Clem.
I'm not giving up til that fat lady starts singing, just not in me. I can't be annoyed with goals, saves, or wins. However, if we miss, I hope it's a top 5 pick miss.
No matter what, for me, this is about how the kids progress. As AG has said, if we're gonna crash, lets crash with kids killing it and those who are on their way out hastening their exit.

Then welcome aboard the express big guy.
Team only has 4 regulation wins after 17 games.
Far, far, far closer to that top 6 pick than sniffing the post season.
Unleash the kids, put the "for sale" sign up on some vets.

I think Theodore and Clemmensen are same caliber players, and if we add for example Versteeg to that trade we might actually get something. But that sucks, maybe Tallon should ask if he wants to move.

I'm guessing you are looking for a ROR type player in the Kuli trade.
Or something similar to what Pitt got in the Neal trade. I'm not a Kuli fan, love what little I've seen of jones, but I'd be happy with any of the names mentioned.

Theo made a run to the finals and has had a stellar career.
Oh look, numbers. Theo played twice as many games and Clem had a pretty good year, I still take Theo 11 times outta 10. Especially with Markstrom, we'll see what Tallon thinks.
I think most non Panther fans would consider Theo & Clemmensen journeyman goaltenders at this stage of their career.
I think most Panther fans would vastly prefer the former to the latter.
The stats are close, but that's because Clemmer went on an tear late in the season which helped pump up his numbers. Before that he was pretty dismal. The stats also don't account for the fact that he is utterly useless in the shootout.
So in short, they are both in a similar category but I don't think you can consider them equivalent.

We need future talent, and Markström can make those numbers as well as Theodore or Clemmensen.

Markstrom will hopefully have an elite level career, but fair enough on the point you're trying to make. Just not gonna get much and I think Theo wants to ride it out here. I can see Clemmer being moved, but it's need to be in a package to be worth anything in return.

If we can get something trading Theodore it should be done. That´s all i have to say.

Whoever we want to move, they're going to have to get more playing time to impress scouts because both have no trade value as of now, imo. Theo *might* if a team really needs a backup. Regardless, I can't see anything more than a late pick for either.
