I like the edge Stoner can bring, but his puck control and his on-ice decisions are horrible lately. I'm happy with him as a bottom d guy, but not #4. He's dragging down that pairing with Gilbert.

Prosser, eh. At best he's a 6-7 pairing, and that's when he's playing "well."

Spurgeon... I don't know... He can be alright in the "o" zone, but his play on d is pretty bad. Problem is he's a defender, so his play on d needs to be much better.

I would be interested to see Scandella get a shot with Gilbert again. They did play well together at the end of last year. There's still that glimmer of hope that Scandella will figure his **** out, finally, and fall into that second pairing d like he could.

Top pairing's great. Better than I would have expected.

I usually like Stoner, but he stunk vs. Eddy. I agree it's Giraffe time.

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but our defensive situation would be so much better if we hadn't gotten rid of Leddy.

Our defensive situation would be just as bad. We would just have more offense from the back end. Leddy is awful defensively.

Oh can we please get over that...

Leddy isn't good defensively...sure he would help by moving the puck but not sure about his defensive game.

Brodin, Gilbert and Spurgeon are all better defensively than Leddy will ever be, and they are good offensively as well.

I don't see where we could fit him, to be honest.

Ehh.. Stoner, Prosser, Falk, even Spurgeon... Could take each of their spots easily. But what's done is done.

Kind of funny (or maybe sad) to see Konopka with 52 penalty minutes. The next closest Wild player is Seto with 12.

Call up Scandella and put him on the second pairing with Gilbert. Waive prosser. Spurgeon at #5. Let flak and stoner fight for #6. Everybody will be happy with the results.

If Scandella can play good enough.

and Seto has two double minors correct?

I have nothing against Konopka but he needs to chill out, just a bit

Burns was never good defensively, and kind of scary whenever he was on the ice. You never knew who was going to score, but someone was.

Leddy, have you guys actually watched him?!?! Come on... He's really not that good. He's on the hottest team in the NHL, and he's really not making that much of an impact. He's fine offensively, but on d, he kinda sucks. Rarely ever does he do anything noteworthy. He might be a little better than some we have now, but there is way way way too much hype with him.

Can we please just let this drop, like forever. We have enough other to ***** about, we don't need to go searching for other petty ones and make them a bigger deal than they really are.

I mean, this is the Wild! We are ripe with *****ing material! Just choose something else...

To be honest, our D would be excellent if we had someone to replace Stoner. Preferably a similarly built D-man, just a bit better with the puck.

I agree with this, and this is a huge reason I am hoping the Wild are trying for one of the Pens good d prospects.

I just don't want to see us give up Seto to get it.

He wouldn't be my first choice to give up either.

Now I wish we could move Heatley to them...

Can you imagine that a week or two ago we were basically forcing Seto to Pens, and now that he's on his hot streak, no one wants to give him up? And it's no surprise. He would be a good fit for the 1st line and he's great in the 2nd.

That said, I'd still be willing to trade him, if the price is right. But I can't imagine that anyone apart from Seto would actually interest Pens. Well, maybe Bouchard.

Falk looks like a beast once a game when he carries the puck up to offensive blueline, he needs to do that more often. He needs to be more assertive and physical. His defense is shaky but I like his skating ability and hope he develops more. Stoner has soured on me completely so far this season.

Edit: I want to see Scandella back too.
