Backup goalie in Hamilton

Unless Aebi gets traded before the beginning of the season, there's no doubt that Huet and Aebischer are gonna start the season in Montreal, while Danis and Halak will be playing in Hamilton. But if Huet or Aebi gets traded or injured and that Danis is recalled in Montreal, who backs up Halak in Hamilton? Michaud is gone, Price will be playing in Tri-City and Lacasse in Quebec City, Heino-Linberg will probably stay in Finland, so who do we got?

They would probaly give a tryout to some ECHL goalies , i doubt the 5th pro level goalie is a concern for the Habs at this point.

So was thinking Don Waddell for his Atlanta Thrashers a year ago.

And with Lehtonen, Nurminen, Hurme and Dunham, he had 4 NHL goalies... Yet, he had to play Michael Garnett and Adam Berkhoel, and then sign Steve Shields, which somehow saved our playoff spot in the end...

OK, just kidding.

But you never know how a #5 goalie can be important sometimes.

Any ECHL goalie can't be worst than Drouin-Deslauriers.

Maybe Michaud will be back who knows. Not sure who else we have in the system other then the above mentioned goalies.

Lacasse is a possibility as he is a 20 year old. He could get called up.

They can probably recall a goalie from LB on an emergency call up

"Pourquoi que le Canadien va toujours chercher des joueurs cachés derrière des arbres en Sibérie quand que ya des p'**** gars de Repentigny qui se font même pas repêcher"? - Jean Perron

And for the benefit of those of you with no french knowledges..

"Why is it that the Canadiens always sign players hidden behind trees in Seberia while we got plenty of unsigned talents in places like Repentigny"

They should really translate 110%!

He'll stay in Quebec with Patrick Roy...

Prospects: Halak, Lacasse, Price, Heino-Lindberg, Tarasov...
UFA : Andy Chiodo and Olivier Michaud (Ed Belfour )

Because there's a huge step between being a goalie in Israel and being an NHL goalie. Something Perron fails to realise.

From the sound of things I think the Habs are considering leaving Danis in the AHL, they want to see him play more consistent. I think if Abby is traded then perhaps Gainey will look for a cheap vet, but who knows what Gainey will do. Plus there's always some FA's to look at when Hamilton has their camp.
