Habs Development Camp Day 6 - SCRIMMAGE DAY!

Yessss, though it looked for a while look I wouldn't be able to make it, I've decided to forego other plans / responsabilities, and head out to the scrimmage today. I'll certainly have a report when I get back.

Who else is going today?

How Latendresse looked? Was he bothered by his injury?

Well, not really... he was probably not at 100% of his condition, but he did not seem bothered by his injury. He delivered a huge hit on David Fischer who felt on the ice! He was skating pretty fast, driving the net at each occasions! He was dominant on the ice! No doubt, he will be ready for the big camp!
Him and Mathieu Aubin were very good! They seem to have a very good chemistry!

I don't think he must've been that bothered since he scored three goals

I really hope Latendresse makes the team this year. He's a big guy with skills! I think he'd help out the habs a lot!!

Nothing flashy! He played well, he has a good first pass and he controls the puck well! He is sound defensively, a future stay-at-home defenseman. It was difficult to evaluate his physical play since there was not a lot of contact, except for the hit of Latendresse on Fischer!

I'll be glad when he does make the team but he is way down in the depth chart at the moment. He may have to wait another 2 years.

How did Price look in net? The score doesn't show much.

What was the age range of the players, starting with young guns Fisher and White as 18 year olds, who are the oldest players. And where did some of the older players play last season? Thanks.

Gleed : 22 ... played with Cornell univ.
korpikari: 22 ... played with Karpat in Finland
O'Byrne: 21 ... played with Cornell univ.

And then you have the 20 years old with Chipchura, Stewart, Fréchette, Wyman and Lacasse!

So would you say that Fischer has been a disappointment in scrimmage play today?

As for me, he was a disappointment too. Yes his skating is fluid and natural, but he just does not seem to be that fast! However during the scrimmage he played well defensively stopping a couple of 2 on 1! I think we have to give him time to develop, but presently I have difficulty to see a big offensive potential in him.

So Maxwell, White and Fisher are playing against some men, next year as they develop some more body strength and maturity they should only improve!!
