I'm not a fan of the DaveArt masks. They are way too busy.

Tank is officially over. Either going to finish 10th or the playoffs

That would be awesome. So much mobility, it can't go wrong.

Tbh, I woulda been in favour of moving Trollver to the wing in this game, playing Sgarbossa on the 3rd, scratching Pulushaj and Mitchell on the 4th because Mitchell wasn't very effective in the past couple games.

I'm also hoping we don't pull one of these on the PP again

We'll eventually get scored on if that bottom X is Elliott again. No one uses that PP strategy anymore in NAmerica.

I'm really excited to have Landeskog back. I'm not holding any delusions about this season especially with EJ out, but a healthy Landeskog does WONDERS for this teams playoff chances. Plus he is just a treat to watch.

I think icing nine players on the PP would be an excellent way to improve our scoring chances.

Maybe I misunderstand the diagram, but that looks pretty much exactly like the Penguins, Capitals, and Red Wings - at least with Lidstrom - powerplays, with some variations in where the guys up top move.

That looks basically like a basic umbrella. Which half the teams in the league use.

The positive over last season: we can discuss our power play

True, but our PP was more effective last season, even though we rarely got to see it.

I think we need a new train of thought when it comes to the team.

When we support the tank...they win...when we say playoffs they lose.

As a fan base what would we like this year? Playoffs? or Seth Jones and playoffs in the future?

If we want...

Playoffs - we constantly talk about the tank and how horrible we are

Seth Jones - we talk about nothing but playoffs

Also, someone please tell me how a guy like Zanon still has a job in the NHL. I have a hard time believing there isn't 100+ guys in the AHL who could do a better job then he has. He is a total liability, every time he touches the puck it's either a turnover or a horrible pass that results in a blown opportunity. The guy is really bad, and he's not even an enforcer, what is his role exactly?
Ryan O'Bryne is the biggest liabilty we have right now followed by Zanon. Every single time O'byrne is on the ice there is dominating play from the opposition. Mainly because he is just parked infront of the net not moving. He is a horrible defenceman. I have no idea how he still has a spot on an NHL team.

And thankfully we sat the other liability on our team Shane O'Brien. He was no better. Nice work giving him a 3 year contract ya idiot Sherman.

I am praying that we land a good #2 Dman in the O'Reilly trade and when EJ and Wilson come back we are set. No more Zanon, Hunwick or O'bryne!!!

Erik Johnson - O'Reilly trade
Tyson Barrie - Jan Hejda
Ryan Wilson - Stephan Elliot

Stastny: "First of all, it's good to have him back. It's a boost for everyone. I'm excited because he makes plays in a give-and-go style. I know what he's doing. He's not afraid to make plays. The give-and-go style works well for me because I like to move the puck."

It probably should be interpreted as compliments towards Landeskog, but I think it illustrates random-path-Jones flaws too.

I was going to go below 20 minutes, but since the pre-game crew is spending all all show pumping Hunwick's tires, I'll go with

20:00-20:29
20:23

Hunwick has put a spell on anyone that comes near him into thinking he is a NHL player

Well it's LA, so the tank is officially on hold for now. Shame.

I think Hunwick has been ok this year. He's had some poor games paired with Zanon/O'Byrne but for the most part he's been decent defensively. Offensively he doesn't give you much apart from the ability to carry the puck through the neutral zone.

Like with many of our average/below average players I think it's mostly an issue with expectations and them not looking all that good when given a role that is too big for their ability. I think Hunwick actually handles 20+ minutes better than most #6-7 guys, but he's still a #6-7 guy.

I've learned to lower my expectations when it comes to the goats around here (Kobasew, Hunwick, O'Brien, Jones) and don't mind them for the most part. I've been very disappointed with O'Byrne this year because he's underperforming in a big way.

It was more being surprised that one of the two broadcasters(Rycroft being the other)that actually tell it like it is pumping him up. He's been ok, but "coming into his own" is something more reserved for how Barrie has been playing.
