Vikings took Harvin with the 22nd overall pick. I think he would have easily gone in the top 15 if it wasn't for the off the field issues.

I like Tavon Austin a lot. Even though the Vikings need a bigger deep threat on the outside, I would take Austin if they decide to trade Harvin. Seahawks could be a good spot for him late in the first and if the Patriots don't sign Welker, I could see them being interested if he's still on the board.
not sure why I thought Harvin went 2nd round, could have worn it was like pick #36 or something.

I REALLY think Harvin is about as close a comparison as you can get for Tavon, minus some of the off-the-field stuff.

I agree. When you watch them play, they're very similar and you can put them all over the field. Both of them are always a threat. The one big difference is that Harvin is built like a tank and he's a lot more physical.

Looks like Jake Stoneburner (OSU), did pretty well today. Great to see.

Will be interesting to see what his round 2 time is. Goodwin and Tavon both with 4.25 40s. Only 2 others sub-4.4, 4.25... That's just ridiculous.

I'm a WVU fan/grad, so I'm a bit biased...

Austin is going to be a legit player. He does things with the ball in his hand that just blows my mind. On the other hand, I don't think Geno is going to be that great.

Apparently Jarvis Jones' medical examinations didn't go well and a lot of red flags came up. Tony Pauline reporting that at least 10 teams took him off their boards entirely. Yikes.

Stills also in the sub-4.3 unofficial times group (4.28)

Swope clocks in a hair under 4.4

Pretty sure a 4.4 this year doesn't even get you a Top 10 time in the WR group. Crazy.

It's too bad the Saints are desperate for help on defense, or else I'd be all about Coradelle Patterson.

Official times have Goodwin at 4.27, Austin at 4.34. Not even close to 4.19.

Swope with a very impressive 4.34. It's crazy how much the unofficial/official times change.

The difference between the two is that Goodwin is a track star playing football, Austin is a football star running track times.

I would argue there are a few more differences than that.

Mayock has been swooning on Woods and I don't blame him. Looks good. Same with this Connor Vernon kid. Great set of hands on him.

for the WR talk. I think Terrence Williams will be the best out of the bunch.

They might have to trade down to do that the way it's going.

More picks and a top player in the draft? Sounds like a plan.

Oh and the award for the dumbest prospect in the draft goes to:

Quote:
In his Combine media interview, LSU DE Sam Montgomery admitted to betting in college and taking games -- not plays -- games off when the Tigers faced lesser opponents.
Montgomery's agent should have advised him before the Combine that saying things like this is not smart. At all. "Some weeks when we didn’t have to play the harder teams, there were some times when effort was not needed," Montgomery said. "But when we had the big boys coming in, the ‘Bamas or the South Carolinas, I grabbed close to those guys and went all out." Montgomery detailed "hundreds of dollars" in bets with teammate Barkevious Mingo, including one for $5,000 on which LSU defensive end will be drafted higher. We'd wager -- heavily -- that it won't be Montgomery. Draft insider Tony Pauline reported late Saturday that LSU's coaching staff has been "slamming" Montgomery to NFL teams.
What an idiot.

They just did a ghost run with CJ and him and it showed that it'll probably get adjusted to a higher number than 4.24
