My take on it is pretty straightforward. If Trouba or Scheifele is part of the package, then no dice. If it's Burmi then I maybe consider it, depending on the asset that's coming back in addition to ROR.
Yep, I'm sure they're untouchable. They seem to really want Trouba on the Avs board.
Little + another asset is going o be the asking price (it will not me a top level asset) With ROR wanting 4+ mil and a long term deal this is a tricky one.....If his season last year was a bit of a fluke last year we would be screwed for a long time since it would leave us with little room but to grow from within

It's possible that he tails off, but my feeling with ROR is that you know what you're getting. He probably won't be much more than a 60 point player throughout his career, but his defensive prowess and playmaking ability will always be there.
In case you can't tell, I want O'Reilly on the Jets in the worst way.

Agree. I really like Bryan Little but if Chevy can get this done I will be over the moon happy.
I think some folks are overestimating the cost to trade for a holdout RFA, especially given that the cap is set to decline next season (meaning the number of potential suitors is smaller), and given that of those teams with available cap space - some of them are likely to be saving it to take a run at Getzlaf or Perry.
The cost for O'Reilly when a trade is finally completed could just as likely wind up being something along the lines of a Burmistrov, a lesser prospect like Klingberg, and a 2nd/3rd round pick or two.
I don't buy into the narrative being spun on the Avs board either. The info supposedly comes from a source close to O'Reilly... yet they also claim Little and his agent are aware of Colorado's interest in him? How does this person know that? Colorado are strictly prohibited from speaking to players under contract to another team, that is tampering... unless they've been given the go-ahead to negotiate with him, and that seems doubtful at this point. Some of the claims being made seem a bit far fetched or at the very least smack of wishful thinking, in my view.

I acknowledge that ROR would be an upgrade on Bryan Little, but is ROR really THAT good? I feel that his name has been inflated, in part because he is the only NHL player of substance currently known to be available. He has had one good NHL campaign, and a real good 12 games in the KHL on a very talented Metallurg team. I know of his value defensively, and while that is all well and good, is there any sound belief that this guy can be a consistent 60-70 point first line centre?
Interesting. I really like Little as well, but for O'Reilly?
...I'm cool with that. Plus someone else, perhaps depends who. Plus Burmy? Little + Burmy is too much I think. We don't know if Burmy will all of a sudden bloom next year and become truly what he was originally hyped up as. Little is already a solid player, and one of our top 6 guys.
Avs don't really have too much leverage since ROR doesn't want to play there. What was the deal with that? I never followed that drama so I am clueless as to what exactly went down.

I think he is saying that ROR and his agent are aware of the situation, not Little and his agent.
O'Reilly's character issues are concerning. I would not give up more that Little + Chicago's 2nd Round pick for him. Avs fan thinking they are going to get Little+ a top prospect like Trouba are dreaming. That's the kind of package you start with if you are trading for Rick Nash not Ryan O'Reilly
