If they were ever to bring in Briere and Streit, obviously complete speculation, I think they'd wind up leading the league in scoring.

Krug would actually be a player you'd think the Islanders would be after, higher cap hit because of the bonus money.
Krug I think is the replacement for Ference. Boychuk would prolly have to go next summer for a cheaper alternative....I could see...

Chara-Hamilton
Seids-Streit
Krug- Dunno.

Depends how they do... If they crap the bed in round one again it may be time to make some changes.

that's a pretty soft defense WBC. i hope the Bruins never go that route, i really like the Bruins big, tough to play against defense. i would like to see some skill added on the backend but i wouldn't change it that much.

That's almost too much puck-moving, haha. A lot of fans around here won't like that lineup at all unless dunno = a righty Mark Stuart.

A player such as Adam McQuaid would slip nicely into that third pairing.

I agree. Krug could be the replacement for Ference. He currently leads all P-Bruins defensemen with 7 goals and 17 assists in 41 games.

He also can run the power play. In time he and Hamilton could be very good there.

I also agree with Ratty. Keep McQuaid for the third pair. He is experienced, solid and tough.

Yeah very similar to the Bruins D that lost to the Canes... I like the bigger guys back there too... Losing Ference, McQuaid and Boychuk would be a heck of alot of sandpaper.

I would actually call it the polar opposite to that D.

Chara - Chara
Wideman - Seidenberg
Montador - Hamilton
Ward - Streit
Stuart - Krug
Hnidy - Dunno

In each situation the lineup you proposed likely has a more skilled player and better skater. I'm not going to lie, I like it quite a bit. No defense with Chara and Seids will ever lack sandpaper/grit.

He has gotten really slow and not only the "turn around to recover the dump" is suffering but his gap control has been just awful. Would still be a good defenseman if his legs had not failed him, IMO.

Do not trade for this lovely over-the-hill awesome mess. And I'm a home town fan of his

However, Ferraro is a proponent of the theory both the Flames and Iginla are better off if hes traded before becoming an unrestricted free-agent this summer.

In fact, Ferraro believes the moves should also include dealing away Kiprusoff and defenceman Jay Bouwmeester.

It seems illogical to not at least explore all the possibilities, he said. I think the fans would understand a rebuild.

Oilers Ryan Whitney will be a healthy scratch for this afternoons game vs Phoenix Coyotes #TSN

I think he'll get dealt soon. Wouldn't mind him on the bottom pairing with McQuaid.

If he can't cut the muster in Edmonton, why would he be able to do it here? They don't exactly have a robust defense.

^ why would you want to play for the Oilers though?

Maybe he needs a change of scenery. A little perk, get traded to your hometown team. Might make him at better.

They also have no structure an a bunch of 20 year olds flying around the ice. Some players dont fit certain places.

You could say Siedenberg couldn't cut the muster in both Carolina and Florida, but hes been damn good here

So you're saying he's dogging it for the Oil? I don't exactly want a guy on this team who isn't professional enough to go out their every game and give 100% because he doesn't like the team he plays for

I would bust my *** for any team I play for regardless. Edmonton has a good future they just need better defense and goaltending IMO.

Whitney would play much better here...much better... better surrounding talent and a far superior system.

Where did I say that? If you're a player on a team that isn't playing well collectively. A team with a bunch of young idiots running around, personally I think it would have some type of effect on your play. I know injuries are a probably for him. But a change of scenery could be good for him. That's all.
