Erie defenseman crashes into his own goalie, Texas gets a goaltender interference penalty it's like watching a Dallas game

That was awesome .... Oleksiak sneaks in and shoots in his own rebound to tie the game ... about a minute left in game.

William Wrenn is earning confidence with Willie pretty quick. He was on the ice and picked up an assist on the game tying goal. He was also on the ice to finish the game, and stopped a dangerous scoring chance from materializing as a Monster was cutting through the entire Texas team.

I think he's replaced Coyle on the top pair with Oleksiak.

Wrenn all over the place ....

He just broke up a 3 on 2 which created a counter 3 on 1 from Texas.

Before, Oleksiak just misses on a chance to end the game. The D look great tonight.

Wrenn tries to end it, but glove save by Pickard.

Wandell gives them the lead with the Eriksson move.

Save Campbell. Texas wins.

Jack Campbell is 8-2-1 in the past 2 months with 2 shutouts. His save % over that time is 0.933.

Man what a great comeback. This team is good. Nice to see Oleksiak with the GTG, and Campbell securing that #1 spot with impressive play.

You've just encapsulated his entire career in one sentence. Also who the hell is William Wrenn?

Some potential late season additions:

Emil Molin:

His team in HockeyAllsvenskan only has 3 games remaining, and they are 6 points out of the final playoff spot. Plus, the 7th place team has a game in hand. He could potentially complete the season here on 3/2.

Even though Molin is not currently on the team, you'd think his Elitserien team Brynäs would require him to remain in the country until their season is complete just in case they have injuries. The team is in the final playoff spot as of right now. 5 games remain in this season, and they have a 4 point lead which is not much in a league that awards 3 points for a regulation win. Even if they sneak in, they only have 15 wins and -42 goal differential. You never want to say never, but they should theoretically have little chance in the playoffs. The latest the first round would end is March 25th, and they could be done as soon as March 19th. If by chance they miss the playoffs all together, they'll be done on the 5th of March.

The only other league he could play in is the junior team for Brynäs. They are in 9th place with 6 games remaining. Their season ends on 3/10. I can't find exact details on the Anton Cup, but I know Brynas is already qualified for the 16 team playoffs. They play 3 game series. Last season, the champion was named on April 1st.

Jyrki Jokipakka:

Ilves is hands down the worst team in the SM Liiga. They are 20 points behind the next team, and firmly in last place. This means they will have to play in the relegation round to attempt to stay in the league. That round could end no sooner than March 30th and no later than April 6th.

Nemeth would have last year if he hadn't been dealing with an injury. In 2010, Philip Larsen didn't make the cut on the Clear Day roster because his team was still playing ... otherwise he probably would have.

Carl Klingberg is an example of a guy that did make the jump to the AHL after his season in Sweden since his team didn't make the playoffs, and he was able to get on the Clear Day.

I'm fairly certain that the new CBA eliminated the Clear Day roster so that won't be an issue anymore.

That would be pretty darn cool if he made the jump. The only thing that is a little concerning is he would have to transition to the NA style close to playoff time.

Even though Nemeth was hurt, he spent a couple weeks with the team so he could get use to being in NA.

If Molin and Jokipakka are going to come to NA next year, I'd at least expect them to do something similar.

Here's a nice article about Luke Gazdic.

I feel bad for the guy honestly. Enforcers are not an important part of the game really anymore. He's done an admirable job developing into a two-way forward, but Dallas' current trend of all, or nearly all, Bottom 6 forwards playing big roles on the PK hurts him.

I agree that's the right direction for Dallas to go. I do love giving only a few guys in the Top 6 PK time. Right now, you can tell they have confidence in Eakin, Fiddler, Nystrom, and even Roussel and Garbutt to play important minutes.

After all the hard work Gazdic has put in, I can't really see him becoming a consistent PK option. He's still only an average skater at best, and Dallas uses mobile and quick forwards on the PK.

He obviously seems like a guy that can be more than a John Scott clone so hopefully he does get a chance. I don't think his type of play is imperative to the success of a team, but it wouldn't be a bad thing to have a true heavyweight on the bench every night.

Campbell made a big save with a ton of traffic in front of him. I don't know how he saw it, but he was able to kick it away from the mass in front of him.

Oleksiak just scores another PP goal ... taps in a rebound into an empty net.

3 goals in 2 periods? Man, his offense is really coming along.
