If McD is out then suspending Pac is useless. Who cares? He should have been pummeled without mercy during the game. Once he leaves scott free I have no interest in thinking about the Canadiens and their hideous fan base. And btw, F-Prust.

As a Ranger fan I lost some self respect tonight. Thanks Torts.
Thanks for this.
I always hated the term 'classy', it's over used and I don't really want to see too much of it out there.
I wonder if the Rangers believe that it is 'classy' to not respond and make the opposition pay a price for their transgressions.

As for taking a slapshot on the 5 on 3, go for it. I know I would. I wouldn't give a rat's azz about the other team, within the boundary of normal play. Blocking that shot was the problem, nothing wrong with the Habs on that play.

Pure speculation on my part, but assuming G and McD can't go on Tuesday, someone needs to come up.

I'm rooting for McIlrath, but in all likelihood the Rangers would be better suited getting a LHD man up here.

Maybe Vernace is a better bet. Left handed, veteran, could take a regular shift on the third pairing... maybe

Staal - Stralman
Gilroy - Eminger
Vernace - Bickel

Hope for the best of news on G, and Del Zotto to return. If Del Zotto can go on Tuesday, he at least skated today, Rangers won't need an extra body with Eminger already around.

it was a dirty hit, but it's not like he LEAPED in the air or anything....most hits have some sort of a hop.

Assume the Rangers will monitor Del Zotto tomorrow (they better ****ing be practicing because they sure as **** don't deserve a day off). He skated today. If they think he can go they don't need another body. Play it safe and call up Vernace or McIlrath if DZ isn't feeling it yet. A positive sign that he skated today, leads me to believe he'll be okay to go on Tuesday.

Staal - Stralman
Del Zotto - Gilroy
Eminger - Bickel

Injuries catching up to the Rangers big-time.

LMAO never mind...

This face while McDonagh was holding his head on his way to the locker room tells me otherwise.

The driving factor for me was that he was just trying to get even for the play in front of the bench. That kind of stuff must not be allowed at all.

Immediately after the hit it is not like there was outrage that it was only 2 minutes and not a major (before it was even known that McDonagh was out).
Finally , a voice of reason.

How about just go fight some a-hole when they deserve it, and forget about winning, who cares who 'wins'.
It's the thought that counts. And don't think for a second that it doesn't mean a ton to the guy who got injured, the guy you are making a statement for, like McDonagh in this case.

Edit: I cannot believe how people miss the whole ****ing point about what real fighting is.

McDonagh bumps Pacietoretty from behind in front of the benches.

A few moments later Pacietoretty runs McDonagh from behind on the end boards.

And it wasn't intentional? It wasn't premeditated?

Definition of head hunting.

that is not suspension worthy, i hate the canadiens and pax is a little ***** but mcdonagh put himself in a really vulnerable position there. he turns and lowers his head at the last second which was a mistake. the thing i dont like is pax could of just checked him straight on instead he chooses to turn his shoulder into him and this with the head being low just rubs mcdonagh out. stupid hit but damn the ref standing ten feet away did not even call this a penalty it was someone way up ice. i dont see him leaving his feet either. hope mcdonagh is ok.
