If Patches gets suspended I'm hoping McDonagh does also he boarded Patches first. Knowing how this league operates it wouldn't surprise me at all if he does get a fine or suspension.

The guy is made of rubber; he’s definitely one our best UFA catch in recent history. I really like him on our top 3 lines because it does spread the toughness but, once everyone is healthy, with the way our top 3 lines are playing, he can only play on 4th.

That said 4. Moen – White – Prust got to be one of the good 4th lines in the league!

No from the little I watched he was getting chances and was much stronger on the puck. I think once Bourque gets back that line could start rolling.

Eller has always been a good forechecker, puck carrier and has always shown flashes of good skill. The biggest difference in his game has nothing to do with him but the fact that he's playing with quality wingers/linemates.
I didn't like the scratch after the first game but since then, Eller answered pretty well the message Therrien tried to send him. Eller started playing a lot better and Therrien is not shy to reward Eller by giving him PP time, something you never see a 3rd/4th liner get. I'm pretty sure Eller realizes that if he continues to play well, this coach will act consequently and that's what we are seeing.

And yeah, it's about time that we see Eller getting quality wingers for once. Thank god we have depth in the wings this year.

Nah, it was funny at first, but it's gotten old fast. Not a fan of how he throws his guys under the bus all the time, too.

I think his time in NY is quickly coming to an end...especially since tonight's loss moved the Rags out of a playoff position.

He started off as his usual black hole self and he took some dumb shots throughout it but for most of the game he was effective and caused a headache. I could see that line going on a point streak if they Gionta plays like that again.

We could just as easily say that the entire team was made magically better from benching eller, since it's not like there were many better players on the ice in that first game. Weird how Eller got singled out there. I wouldn't be surprised if Eller is hitting more mostly because of Therrien's insistence on 'intensity', but the defensive play, cutting through the neutral zone like a train, awesome board work and back checking like a demon were all there last year. Dude put on a significant amount of muscle over the summer and also played quite a few games overseas that may have helped refine his offensive game a bit more. If therrien were more daring, he'd have benched maxpac to take credit for the inevitable bunches of goals that would come out of his play regardless

Regarding the bolded part... same here. As for the whining, it only means the Canadiens are doing something right... I like it!

Oh man. I wouldn't want to be in Therrien's shoes. When Bourque will be back, who do you take out of the lineup?

Prust downgraded to 4th line? You can't disrupt the 2/3 lines; they are doing amazing.

Not accurate.
McD eased up on max. He could have destroyed him. Max flew up in the air to crush McD head against boards. That was too much IMO.

Says YOU, hit me into the boards and guess two can play that game.
now you are judging who hit the hardest? and yelling NOT FAIR?

don't start the shiiiit in the first place and you won't have to worry about getting hit back.

saying McD let up and could have killed him, but he sure drove him into the board and yes he did rings his bells and Max was hurting for a long time on the bench, OH sorry you forgot that part I guess.
This year the habs are a bit changed. hit me and I hit you, hurt me and I hurt you, why you say? because of all the things that have happened to the Habs in the last little while, yes things like NO SUSPENSION for Chara and such. Nobody cried for the Habs when Max was out the rest of the season, or when Markov got put out for nearly 2 seasons and no suspension.

From now on it's hit me and I HIT YOU BACK.

Always seems to be OK for teams to play old time tough hockey when playing the Habs, and when the Habs have someone with some size do it back, there is a bunch of sooking going on...sorry ladies on the opposing side, but a guy Max has some size, and he will use it, proper thing...these kinds of hockey plays happen every game, you hate to see guys get hurt, but you have to deal with injuries...

Nice pic on the patches hit!!

After looking at the hit again on video, I figure this is what the evaluation would be.

No Suspension:
Pacioretty's feet were planted at the initial point of contact
Pacioretty's primary point of contact was mid/top of the back
McDonagh changed his body position just prior to the hit, and Pacioretty had little time to react

Suspension:
Pacioretty charged in
Pacioretty had intent to injure
Pacioretty is a repeat offender (Letang last year)

My consensus is no more than a game if suspended, but I think I'd still be surprised if there was one.
