Adding Cullen would not make this team better in any way, shape or form unless our goal is to upgrade the 4th line scoring by a marginal amount. He might pot a goal every 6 or 7 games if he can stay healthy. Not exactly a receipe for playoff success.

Watching Wild-Flames intently tonight.

Not that anyone wanted him before, but MY GOD, Dany Heatley has the foot speed of a dead elephant. Jesus.

Ya, Heatley makes Jason Allison look like a 25 year old Mike Gartner.

Stemps was everywhere tonight. I'm really hoping he is on Shero's radar.

Did he suffer a serious leg injury? I know he was never a burner in Ottawa/Atlanta, but I don't remember him looking this pedestrian.

It's a "pace" League now. Anyone who skates like that just won't score many goals no matter how talented he is. When things start ratcheting upwards in the playoffs, it only gets worse for them.

Those days are long gone. You'd be hard pressed to name more than 5 guys in the League who score 25 or more goals a season while being considered "average" skaters.

Yea, Stempniak had at least 4 really good opportunities, and was good along the boards.

Bouchard was also pretty good out there, but the health risk is just too much.

Stempniak is a guy I watched a lot with the Leafs and have been following him closely this year.

He is the guy I really want at the deadline, realistically. He can create on his own, pass, shoot, skate... I think he would click big time with Crosby.

F that line of thinking.
Uh, I think adding a vet last year would've helped the team from losing all composure in that series. It certainly couldn't have hurt...

For that reason I HOPE Ray brings in a solid vet. Certainly not saying it should be Cullen.

I've wanted to acquire Stempniak for so long. I thought he would be a good Sykora replacement years ago but it never happened. Maybe it will finally happen but he has another year left on his deal and is a good fit in Calgary so I kind of doubt he'll be moved.

Heatley never looked like a guy that took conditioning all that seriously, that could be a huge issue why he's slower than Andrew Brunette (a guy a lot of people here wanted, mind you, a year or two ago...which is why I laugh at some of the guys people want here). Dany never bothered to work on that part of his game because he seemed to be in the right spot on the ice, now it's going to make him go the way of Scott Gomez.

He's on pace for something like 43pts in an 82 game schedule. It's going to get to the point where he just leaves to play in Europe after he is bought out and that's the last we will hear about him.

If I ever met him on a Pittsburgh street and he addressed himself by name, my reply back would be, oh.*walk away*

Players I hope Shero steers clear of: Ryder, Setoguchi, and Cullen.

Since Shero is a smart man, I know I won't have to worry.

i'd want the Pens to make a push for either Stempniak or Iginla (or, if the price fits both teams well enough, both)

That's my list as well, along with Ryane Clowe for toughness reasoning. Just unlikely, since the Sharks won't be selling.

Stempniak would be dynamite on any of the top-3 lines here. As for Iginla, my main want, but obviously comes with the hefty price.

Sharks have lost 9 of their last 10 games, and if they keep playing poorly I could see pending UFA's like Clowe being moved. I for one would really like Ryane to play with Sid.

I don't think Clowe could keep up with how Sid plays the game.

I'd love Okposo, but highly doubt the Isles would want to trade him to us.

It's hard to not see a firesale of some kind in Buffalo. They looks like a seller for sure right now.

The one player that would be of interest for us would probably be Pominville but he won't be cheap.

Pominville and Regehr would help the cause tremendously. We'd just have to empty the cupboard for the both of them, even though with those two on the roster, there's really not a hole anywhere to be found.

regehr alone could come at an affordable price. then we could swap another defenseman for a forward imo.

If Malkin's out for more than a month I think we need to make a run at Valtteri Filppula.

- Upcoming UFA
- C/LW
- Stanley Cup Experience
- Can play 2nd line centre now and slot on Geno's wing if he comes back
- Detroit could be selling
