I'm not sure what people expected last night. Decimated team, playing in a place they can't EVER win, with the back-up in net.

The bad part is obviously the injuries piling up... the worse part is that we haven't hit rock bottom yet.

This is going to get ugly folks... buckle the F up.

This team really likes to pull a Jekyll and Hyde during intermissions.

I don't get it. Too many times they come out not ready to start the period. I wish I had stats on how many goals for/against the Rangers are involved with in the first 5 minutes of a period.

The Ole Ole crap continues on for at least three excruciating minutes. Not fun at all. Oh, they don't even have a goal song. It's a horn, and then a train advertisement is shown on the scoreboard.
Habs fan here, yes it is brutal. Just a load of dreck piled high with a nice veneer. The season opening one was real embarrassing, dragging Jean Beliveau out to pass torches around to a team that finished last in conf.

Lots of disturbing things came out of this game.

1) Obviously the lack of offense.

2) Obviously the injuries.

3) There just seems to be a lack of urgency, especially with the younger, unestablished players.

What exactly does Mashinter bring to this team? He's not a good enough skater to forechecking and too slow to take the body. And somebody, either Mashinter or Bickel, has to get into a fight after Biron is run and if they felt the Pacciorety hit was dirty). And I'm not a big fight guy but show some pride.

Miller and Kreider seem too comfortable in their places in the lineup.

The one guy who seems to be really trying to keep his spot and compete is Gilroy (and I can't believe I'm saying that).

4) It's not that they lost the game, they seem to always lose in Montreal, it's the way they lost.

Agree on Miller, disagree on Kreider. I might only agree on Miller at this point because I still feel he isn't ready, and when this team is fully healthy he should be straight back to Hartford.

I think Kreider has been playing his ass off since being reinserted into the lineup three games ago, and he deserves to stay. Sure, he's not putting up points, but he's skating hard and making good decisions with the puck. He's even throwing his weight around more I've noticed.

Also agree with Dorado above. Think it's time to give Haley a shot. No points in the Whale's last two games, but before that he had 8 in 6 games (3 goals). Would be open to a Mashinter/Haley swap right now.

i was happy with thomas' game. he's WAY too easy to knock down because of the size(certainly not the same tank zucc was in his final games), but he was visible. the few shifts in the 3rd with richards and pyatt looked good despite the fact that both guys are in a slump. torts needs to utilize his shot on the first unit of the PP. hopefully he gets more minutes as we go forward. i'd love to see that shot on a line with hagelin and stepan to see him with some space, but i don't see torts taking him away from the bigger guys.

Torts has neutered this team. His turn the other cheek mentality is costing this team games. Stick up for yourselves. Hit someone. Knock someone out. Do something. They skate around passively playing the game. No aggressiveness whatsoever.

1. Why were Staal and Girardi, our two best defensemen left after losing McD to injury out there to block shots in a 5 on 3 shooting gallery with 2 minutes left in a game that was well over????? Torts should be fired for this alone.

2. Why wasn't that rat Max Pacioretty leaving the ice in a stretcher after blasting our #1 dman in the numbers head first in the boards?

3. Regardless of getting decimated this team has 0 balls and is the most boring team I've seen hit the ice all year. I had more fun channel surfing around during the afternoon games then watching my own team.

Wth, is taking so long for the Rangers officials to let the fans know about McD's injury. I find it strange and annoying.

This is Torts.

They're not discussing any injuries this season. Only injuries we truly know about are Powe, and Sauer. It's been this way all season, just look at Asham. Dude plays every other game because of injury, who knows what the **** is wrong with him.

Your best bet to follow these injuries and their severity? Keep an eye on the AHL Transactions page. If someone gets called up, the injuries to Del Zotto and McDonagh are serious (safely assuming Girardi can't go by Tuesday).

Seriously. That was the worst part of the game.

I'm not all about fighting - I hate the times that two goons go at it just to make themselves useful but this was a time that someone absolutely needed to step up and nobody did. Hell, I'd have been happy to see someone like Hagelin drop them and at least try to throw some punches. Doing nothing was the worst thing possible.

Tough game and a tough stretch of game for sure. The worst? Reading nonsense comments from "fans" who can't handle a bit of adversity. This team has been on the upswing over the past 3 seasons including last year's run to #1 in the East in one of the toughest division in the NHL and then going on to play in game 6 of ECF. Now they lost a few games and it is impossible to read through any discussion in any thread here. Being a fan does not mean simply cheering when your team is up. It also means supporting it when it is down instead of sh***ing on it. Otherwise, there is a soccer term for it - glory hunting and for such fans - "glory hunters".

It's not the losses. It's the way they're losing.

I think the trade thread is a little too quick to advertise a fire sale to the rest of the league. We've been decimated by injuries.

Not sure if I want him over Mash - but I would like him up skating with us. The real problem lies in whether Torts lets them off the bench to do their work.

As much as I still don't like Asham - if there ever was a time for you to drop the mitts and maybe repeat your sleeping gesture its against Patches in our next meeting. But I know it won't happen...

So glad I ended up going out instead of finishing watching the game, I heard Biron got ran as well with no repercussions.

Torts used to tote the team toughness so much, what the heck is happening? Get it together guys, we have the tools.

Despite being easy to knock down, I liked the heat Thomas had on his shot. Play him more.

Yeah, fans are biased.
