GDT: Western Conference | February 24, 2013

We are continuing our main board GDT trial today and will be having two GDT's that cover today's games - one for the Eastern Conference and one for the west.

We fully understand that there are many neutral fans who watch and take great interest in what goes on in NHL games that do not involve their own team. These threads will be mainly for neutral fans, and fans of the teams involved are encouraged to post on their respective team forum GDT's. However, this will not be a hard and fast rule.

This will not preclude new threads on significant events which take place in a game but "significant" will be decided by our moderators and these threads could be closed and the talk redirected back to the GDT. These GDT's will be closed at the conclusion of the last game.

Also, please be aware that this is a neutral forum and the additional protections that home fans receive on their own forums do not apply here.

Today's games:

All times Eastern. Visitor is listed first.

5:00 PM
Vancouver (10-3-4)
Detroit (8-7-3)

7:00 PM
Columbus (5-11-2)
Chicago (14-0-3)

8:00 PM
Colorado (7-8-1)
Anaheim (12-2-1)

8:00 PM
Phoenix (8-6-3)
Calgary (5-7-3)

I had a dream that Columbus beat Chicago in regulation. I need to lay off the spicy garlic shrimp late at night...

Trap game for the Hawks. But i'll be in attendance and usually have a good track record

Jack Johnson out for the Jackets, nice hit on their defense. And hopefully Mason in the net since Bobrovsky played last night.

Hoping for a win in regulation to keep the record going. Also not sure if it's been announced but anyone know if Crawford will make his return tonight?

Wings are probably going to get beat soundly. Unless Howard stands on his head I think it's going to be around 4-1 or so in favor of the Nucks.

Looks like Jiggy will be in net for the Avs, I'm guessing Hiller tonight and Fasth tomorrow vs Kings. That game will be great, look for Colorado to come out really fast and Ducks come out slow after having a big break and COL playing last night. First period should be interesting.

Oh and Fowler is expected to finally come back, how's EJ doing for the Avs? When is he expected to return?

The Detroit/Vancouver game should be great also, and I'll be watching it at least for a little, which means Detroit will win. I haven't seen them lose all season (except vs Ducks) so idk why Detroit fans are worrying haha.

I would like to apologize to Vancouver, Anaheim and Chicago fans. I've taken your teams in my proline so that means the odds are against you today.

No guarantee Booth is out yet. He is going to take the pre-game skate and will be a game time decision.

Tonight, Columbus will end Chicago's undefeated-in-regulation streak with a dominant 4-1 win.

I know that this is true because I picked up Ray Emery in fantasy.

Nice goal by Daniel.
Howard stoned Lappy on a breakaway earlier. This game is pretty good so far.

Ah...bad penalty to take by Tanev, putting the puck over the glass.
