At #10 the Oilers would probably go for a D like Pulock or Ristolainen.

I have dreams of the Oilers being in a position to draft Sean Monahan.

Lucking out on Monahan would be oh so lovely.

I'd love to grab Hartman aswell, but don't think we'll be in a position to take him without it being a reach (lets say... 12th OV), and don't think he'll fall out of the 1st.

Ok so if we draft Monahan. Would you guys be happy if we get Kujawinski and any of Martin/Fucale/Comrie

Judging by what I've seen on here, HF Oil fans would rather have Jarry.

I'm not sure if I'm a Kujawinski fan, if we drafted Monahan then I would prefer a d-man with one of our two second rounders (other being a goalie, Jarry/Fucale/whoever)

Kujawinski ends up becoming a great second line player in NHL 13, so yeah, I'd be happy with him.

In all honesty, I hope we use our second rounders to select forwards. Unless there's a big D man available, I would pick more coke machines like we did last year. Our prospect pool is incredibly shallow in terms of potential forwards, Pitlick and Hamilton have done nothing, Reider is small and Moroz, Zharkov and Kharia are wild cards.

We lack depth at C and none of you would would want Kujawinski if we draft Monahan. I'm hopeful we trade Onark for another 2nd cuz hes doing well. Thus allowing us to draft like this:
Monahan, Kujawinski,Comrie or Jarry and Bigras or Roy or Hagg

Nobody is trading a 2nd for Omark.

We have Anaheim's 2nd as it is, which will probably be pretty low.

Absolutely would be estatic with Monahan or Pulock for that 6-10 range.

You are correct, I thought it was this year, but I guess they've decided to postpone it one season.

I hope that where ever we draft that we get a centreman with size. I feel that is our biggest need. The way Lazar has been playing I am sure his value is going up.

Out of all the centre men in the draft which players do you think can be a legit 2C in the NHL.

So CBJ end up with both Drouin and MacKinnon no? With their own high 1st and 2 additional 1sts, they have enough trade up.

Little bit scary to think about.

Yep, they'd have an unreal core.

MacKinnon, Johanson, Dubinsky, Jenner as the future centres with Johnson, Tyutin, Nikitin and Murray as D. Nice.

The link says that it starts this year. Not sure what everyone is reading. Whomever wins the lottery wins 1st overall.

Sean Monahan. There are some who I think will be legit No.1 guys (MacKinnon, Barkov) but I think Monahan is the perfect No.2. Elias Lindholm could be anywhere from a 1-3 C.

I'll be honest I got caught up in the "things won't change until next year" part.

You are correct sir. Imagine, the Oilers finish with the 17 or 18th best chance and win...again, Jackets' fans would lose it.

Yep... the team that wins the lottery (all 14 non playoff teams are eligible) will win the #1 pick.

Sounds like the NHL wants to possibly change the % odds of winning the #1 pick for the 1-14th drafting teams (likely making the odds better for the long shot teams)... but not for this upcoming draft.

People simply read the article and misunderstood what they were saying.
