Truck my guess is that they are fine. In the WJC he played a slightly more reserved roll (still had room to rush the puck) and played really good defense in the tournament minus a play here or there. Too me Buff of last year was talented but wreckless at times......Trouba is talented but aggressive. nothing that a little time with Huddy and time in the NHL won't straiten out. I would think they might be pleased that he is being given the freedom to play within a sysytem that is allowing his offensive talents to grow but who knows I guess?
DespoticNewt my guess is that if the NHL scouts and GM's had a do over on draft day Jacob would go as high as 5th now (4th if it was TNSE picking)....like Hamilton the year before I think D men are a bit tough to peg but to me at least he was an absolute steel at #9 and I personally had him as the 2nd best D prospect going into the draft behind Murray.
I also kinda doubt they are worried. I was just throwing it out there.
The freedom to explore his offensive game has made him into a far more dynamic player. There would be a tipping point though.

For sure truck we don't want him going over a tipping point but based on what i saw in the WJC he is really solid fundamentally defensively. Last night I was struck by how dominant he was on the PP where he scored. leading up to that goal he made about 3 very good plays and it seems like he is the focal point of the Michigan PP.
I doubt he will be in Michigan past next season though and that should stop any bad habits from becoming too engrained.....he is just too good a player IMHO to spend more than 1 more year in Collage.

Young defenseman will always make a bonehead play once in awhile, hell even seasoned vets do it occasionally. Mistakes on D get so much more magnified then for forwards. Trouba may very well be ready to move up next year. He has that kind of talent IMO.
I didn't watch the game, but if you look at the stat sheet, something definitely got him peeved - he picked up a couple of penalties in addition to the misconduct.
Goon.
Ended up running accross the ice and connected with a huge hit from behind into the boards on the Wolves forward. Refused to leave the ice once he was kicked out and once he finally got off the ice slammed his stick into the ice and was seen swearing at fans. Kid definitely has some maturing to do.

Yeah that doesn't seem like him at all from everything we have seen so far. I know he's pissed about being sent down but he's gotta tone his aggressivness down a bit.
@ohlbarriecolts might be in tough tonight. Scheifele scratched (suspension) from last night's misconducts. @ek5colts still out. #ColtsStorm
I can't find anything official on the OHL Network, but there are a few tweets about him being scratched for tonight. It's too bad too, as Camara's returning tonight.
EDIT: another tweet - he's going to miss 2 games for that hit.

Mark Scheifele has been suspended for 2 games for receiving 2 game misconducts on the same play last night in Sudbury
Soak it in Mark...it is all about getting ready for the big league. After these 2 games lift this team on your shoulders and prove to the world what you can do.
I honestly do hope we give someone like Neiderberger a shot at coming to our camp. We'll be short some goalies anyways with all our prospect ones in the NCAA.
Neids has been crazy good for Barrie, sometimes even completely stealing games. I'm also not a fan of the smaller goalies, but this kid is really good.
Very much doubt a sub 6'0 goalie makes the NHL. Players are just too good at picking the top corners nowadays
Muh, we can probably get him for free. No harm in picking him up for the IceCaps. It's not like there's a goalie down there we're grooming to take over from Pavs anyway.
Lowery(Swift C) ... Kosmo (Guelph) and Olson (Kelowna) held off the scoresheat as all three teams were shutout 2-0
Lukas suter did not get a point in Saskatoons 7-1 win
Off night for Jets 4wrd prospects of the CHL
Trouba was also held off the score sheet and Michigan lit the lamp 6 times....throw that in with the Jets game and all in all it was a day to forget. Turn the page!
Question: (and maybe Holden can help with this) IF the Jets plan to sign Trouba once his college season ends, and he joined the jets at the end of this season, does that eat up a year of his ELC? I think the new CBA has changed regarding this, no?
Rumblings at Michigan that both Merrill and Trouba likely won't be back next year. Complete speculation, imo, but seems interesting.
That may also be why there are many Buff and Hainsey rumors starting to circulate too.
