Frattin on IR- Mirtle

Quote:
James Mirtle‏@mirtle

Leafs have put Matt Frattin on IR. Carlyle made it sound like they're hoping he's back by end of month, so expect much longer than a week.
Hayes/JMac speculating surgery was more than just a cleanup

Like i warned earlier, start thinking longer then 1 week.

It's also the new trend in sports, to under state the length of time at first, great way to defuse the initial shock of it to fans.

I don't think anyone expected he'd be gone for a few days/week. Few weeks minimum seems about right.

Yep, we'll be without Reimer and Frats for awhile I think.

Our 4th line feels the shock of this big time- 3 big stiffs that can barely skate now on it with McClement moving up. That line will be back to being useless because they can't keep up. I hate Steckel

Leafs can't catch a break.

Potential #2 stud sophomore defenseman lighting it up in the AHL... gets injured

1st line left winger signed a new deal... how about an injury to seal it.

#1G coming into form... how about an injury.

Young #2RW sniper coming into form... injured

Funny thing is the before the first game of the season. Frattin was in AHL and Reimer was the Backup. So I guess all is well.... Minus Lupul.

Sad to hear he's going to be out even longer than a week...

It's bad enough we are losing key individuals, but worse still is that we are losing chemistry, which is even more important in a short season. Losing Lupul and Frattin kind of kills 2 lines worth of chemistry.

Injury update: According to Nonis, Frattin knee procedure was successful. Probably 10 days or so from return.

Also Gunnar our best 2way D played injured and then went on IR and only now is back 1/3 of the season gone.

Yet the leafs are playing better than they have for a while, better goaltending, defence and PK, and they have a winning record, despite the loss of those players. Sure sounds dire to me.

I already predicted he'd be out longer than one week. This really isnt any shock too be honest. The guy had surgery for Gods sake, which obviously is a lot of trauma and shock your body goes through. He's not superman, it takes several weeks to feel better if not months before its close to even feeling properly better/normal. Please dont tell me you guys actually thought he's be back a week after he hurt himself/ just has surgery

When you put Frattin back on Kadri's line that is a huge skill upgrade over Komarov and Orr.

We need him back in the biggest way. Tired of watching plays die when Kadri dishes the puck.

But Komarov brings grit and hits and Orr is just so cool because he fights and ..

Yep, enough is enough. Skilled players should be with skilled players. It's no surprise that Mac is playing well again.
