Perezhogin signed

it looks that Perezhogin signed with Montreal...he must have accepted the 1 year qualifying offer for 627 000 $...

If Ryder sign for 2.5M$ per year, our team salary would be: 42 622 000 $
(if my numbers are good... and assuming Kostitsyn will make the club)

Nice! I'm looking forward to seeing Perez playing this year. He showed a lot of promise last season.

This is great news. I'm assuming he took a pay cut to sign a one-way contract.

Quite surprised he took $200,000 less - good to see he signed though.

Like Higgins... One-way versus 2-way...

perez signed a one-way contract because of the pay-cut, that's a sure thing

that probably means he'll be in Montreal and not in Hamilton...

well, at 600K it's not really that big of a deal if he end's up in Hamilton

Considering..

Considering the way he played during the playoffs, I really don't understand why some people think he may actually end up in Hamilton. Let alone that he'd have to clear wavers...
I just doesn't make sense to me. Perezhogin's gonna be a regular starting lineup player, just as Higgins will be, and Plekanec will be.
If one of those three were to play real bad, they'll end up in the stand, not in Hamilton.

The only player I don't want to see getting cut from the team is Latendresse. Not that he's above any other young players, but I just don't want to see him go back in juniors, and I don't believe he's allowed playing in Hamilton.

I wouldn't mind seing Andrei Kostitsyn in Hamilton again, but I really think he's the kind of player that would do better in the NHL (didn't his coach say that ?) At least, he'd have a fellow comrade in Grabovsky.

Ouffffffffff !
That a big, big signing guy !! Perez is between bust and boom, we must give confidence to him. A lot of ice time, some PP time. 1 way contract. If confidence he have, 20 goals he will score next year.

Good signing...Now for Ryder, he is the last one to sign, again...Something tells me that BG doesn't like Ryder's agent...

Ultimately Ryder's agent works for Ryder. I blame Ryder just as much as I blame his agent, if not more. We'll see how it turns out in the end I guess, but we all know they haven't seen eye to eye in past negotiations.

How does the cap work? does it only count for your 23 man roster? If Ryder Signs for 2.something million that seems to put the habs over the 44 million dollar cap. But that would give the habs 27 players under contract.. Who can shed light on this??

Only the 23 man roster counts against the cap, in fact, you can carry only 21 if you want.

The cap only counts the players on your active pro roster.

If you don't count Kosty, Danis, Ferland, Cote, etc... the Habs are a shade over 39 M as of now.

True. At one point it does become old news. I don't remember him for that. I remembered him for his good playing and enthusiasm..

http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=171442&hubname=nhl

It's funny but the writing on his stick is upside-down. I wonder if it's because he's just holding his stick with the blade down waiting for a play, or if his blade is glued in with the writing pointing the wrong way. I hate it when I glue that blade in and then realize once the glue is cooling that I put it in with the writing facing down. I know it won't really affect my play, but just looks estheticly wrong...
