However, Ferraro is a proponent of the theory both the Flames and Iginla are better off if hes traded before becoming an unrestricted free-agent this summer.

In fact, Ferraro believes the moves should also include dealing away Kiprusoff and defenceman Jay Bouwmeester.

It seems illogical to not at least explore all the possibilities, he said. I think the fans would understand a rebuild.

Oilers Ryan Whitney will be a healthy scratch for this afternoons game vs Phoenix Coyotes #TSN

I think he'll get dealt soon. Wouldn't mind him on the bottom pairing with McQuaid.

If he can't cut the muster in Edmonton, why would he be able to do it here? They don't exactly have a robust defense.

^ why would you want to play for the Oilers though?

Maybe he needs a change of scenery. A little perk, get traded to your hometown team. Might make him at better.

So you're saying he's dogging it for the Oil? I don't exactly want a guy on this team who isn't professional enough to go out their every game and give 100% because he doesn't like the team he plays for

I would bust my *** for any team I play for regardless. Edmonton has a good future they just need better defense and goaltending IMO.

Whitney would play much better here...much better... better surrounding talent and a far superior system.

Where did I say that? If you're a player on a team that isn't playing well collectively. A team with a bunch of young idiots running around, personally I think it would have some type of effect on your play. I know injuries are a probably for him. But a change of scenery could be good for him. That's all.

What if they move Phoenix to Quebec or Markham gets an expansion team? Columbus or Detroit would have to go right back with the West teams.

Detroit without Lidstrom is not nearly as scary.

Not feet either. Ankles. He's had at least 2 surgeries on the same ankle and his recovery has been painful and frustrating. His ankle is just fine .

Re: whitney

Never thought I would say this but I would rather have Andy "Apple Turnover" Ference than that washed up stiff on this team.

Whitney has no heart or desire anymore...maybe it is the injuries, contract or that he'd rather tweet all day!

Tim Panaccio ‏@tpanotchCSN
Al Morgant: if Flyers become "sellers" BOS would take Danny Briere. Flyers finally have 8th seed;teams behind them have lots games in hand

I knew it.

Would be interesting to see if Streit and Briere could help fix the PP as well.
