As long as he stays at number 7 in the depth chart.

(though I'd argue he ain't exactly cheap at that #7 spot).

looking around the league I don't see any better 7th defensemans than Rome as much as we like to bash him. I would agree, Alberts is average, maybe above average because he pretty safe and is a big body

He must have heard that AV was going to start him on the 4th line.

I like Volpatti. He sure can throw some thunderous hits. If Booth's sick, there's no point in him being so close to the rest of the team.

Booth has Brandon Reid syndrome. Skate, skate, skate, accomplish nothing.

Just watching him since he's been back reminds me of how frustrating he can be to watch.

So Bieksa and Booth are out?

It'll likely be on the first and third line to generate scoring chances.

Even with just his speed he backs of defenders and can make room for his linemates. Also created. few chances last game, just couldn't finish, but the timing will come back to him

I have always had the impression that Booth's hockey sense is among the worst in the league. I think if you combined Booth's body with a Sedin's brain you would have a perennial art ross trophy contender...as it is he is barely a 2nd line player.

Of course they aren't the exact same player, I am referring to production offensively.

The Canucks as a whole go through long stretches of having ZERO finish, unfortunately for us they came against Boston and LA.

Except he hits hard (hit Keith a couple times), and has drawn 4 penalties since he's been back.

I think he is very Taylor Hall like when he is at his best, would agree with the below-average hockey sense

maybe more like Taylor Hall-lite

Is it wrong to want production and finish from a second line player around here? I understand he can hit and draw some penalties, but he's very frustrating to watch in the top 6 for long stretches.

You gotta give him some time to get his timing back

29 points in 56 games last season, not THAT bad, but definitely not good either. He also scored in bunches and was MIA for stretches.

I know it will take time for him to produce, I am simply saying that I don't have any confidence that he will produce consistently, especially in the playoffs.

If anything Taylor Hall is David Booth-lite

I definitely understand your criticism, as well as your lack of confidence in him.

However, we aren't in a position to upgrade on Booth, nor does it currently make sense to get rid of him. He's been injury plagued and had to deal with Kesler when he was healthy.

I'd definitely give Booth a year and a half more before passing on final judgment.

Where would this team be without Tanev?

I know I am probably taking the other d-men for granted, but it is a treat to watch Tanev play d.

Darn, almost had it!

I would of liked to see Hansen on the third, Kesler needs a playmaker and Schroeder + Raymond line needs a speedy winger
Ballard just can't catch a break, what does he need to do to get into the top 4?

Nice on putting Hansen on the second line

Exactly what I was going to say they should do. Who knows? Maybe he's that winger we've been looking for to play with Kesler all this time, but this year is the first when his game has elevated enough to be second line worthy.
