Well we are in 6th right now. Tri-City and Spokane have both been playing great.

And we need to get home ice advantage, based on the World Curling Championships coming to Save On, APPARENTLY if we don't get home ice advantage, we will have to play our playoff games at Bear Mountain Arena. Which would be bad news bears, everyone wants Royals playoff tickets.

Dang, so the games are gonna be at Bear Mtn? Is Gogolev gonna be back for the playoffs?

The Royals finish their last home game of the season strong, beating the Silvertips 4-1.

Hicketts and Fransoo with 2 goals each, Hodges with 3A.

Vollrath was outstanding 2 or 3 huge saves to keep the Royals in it, how he wasn't the 1st star (or even in the 3 stars) blows my mind.

The only reason they won was because the HFB WHL Moderator was in attendance.

Well then you should come to the playoff games, maybe we will the series.

ANYWAYS, watching the game I was extremely impressed with Vollrath, Soy, Hicketts and Fransoo.

Hodges played excellent, Nelson and Magee brought their games to the table, but I feel like Vollrath has stolen the show for the Royals. He's been phonomenal, for three games in a row he's been the team's best player. Hicketts still remains consistent and proving to be one of our top defenders at just 16. Fransoo has taken over as the captain and he's been nothing short of fantastic.

Tyler Soy looks like an 18 year old, it's insane. Great playmaker, goes hard on the backcheck, ain't afraid to shy away from the dirty areas. I am also wondering why he is not wearing a cage?

I say we start Vollrath during the playoffs and we might have a chance to win a couple games.

See you all at Bear Mountain! (If your lucky enough to get tickets.)

How did Victoria screw up enough to force the team to play it's playoff games at a secondary rink the first round?

Was this team not expected to make the playoffs?

Yikes...

This team isn't the same w/o Gogolev in the lineup and the other injuries down the stretch didn't help.

They clinched about a month ago, and they just put it in cruise control from there, loss after loss and nobody on the team cared much because we we're already guaranteed in the playoffs. And either way, the curling tournament and playoffs were inevitably crossed, no matter what they would be playing at Bear Mountain.

It must be a kick in the teeth to management, though, to have a play-off hockey game moved out by curling. Something about it just screams poor planning.

Admittedly, I have no familiarity whatsoever with the draw of the world curling championship, but will it sell out the SoFMC?

victoria had the world curling championships long before victoria was awarded a whl franchise. its inconvenient but should be pretty exciting playing in a small barn.

Understandable if that's the case. Victoria was just becoming aware the WHL was coming to town 2 years ago.

Still, I guess the plan was to kick out the ECHL Salmon Kings regardless.

probably would of been a road trip scheduled for the salmon kings. as there playoffs wouldnt of started for another couple of weeks. how do think the boys will fair this playoff round? another sweep, hold there own and take a game or two, or hell completely freezes over and the boys take the series?
