Last year when Colborne was in the NHL, he sure looked like he had potential to be a top 6 center.

I have no clue why he was sent down, he was doing everything right. Who knows, maybe he has busts it up next year and earns a spot on the team.

Wilson was the coach, So lots weird things can happen.

I will say I'm watching the Marlies play the admirals right now and he's been the best player out there.

Is it ironic we are discussing Colborne as a possible bust while at the same time raving about Koskta being a 27 year old rookie?

He didn't look that great imo.

I still remember this embarrassing sequence:

What a floater, Carlyle would sit his ass the rest of the game for a shift like that. I don't know if he'll ever get a sniff while Carlyle is here.

he looks out of shape which is something that can be fixed - he was already coasting on the back check and looked gassed

the kid is still young - he needs to work on his strength and conditioning but he could end up being a very solid 3rd line center at 6'5"

you only give him the benefit of the doubt because of his size. This kid is a bust and won't amount to anything. Do you really think he'll be better than bozak on the third line?

I don't give him the benefit of the doubt - he is a big kid who is worth hanging onto for a while longer. He needs to get in better shape and improve his foot speed

Do I think he'll be better? I can't say. But looking at history of late developers I would never write off a guy like that and say down the road he wouldn't be a better 3rd liner than someone else

Wow just saw the Eakins post game, he really called out McKegg in particular for not playing with any desperation. Very Wilsonesque.

He did that with Kadri once too, I am sure he will learn not to do that over time.

Nothing wrong with calling a player out.
Why are people so sensitive?

You're not dealing with little kids here. These are men, and with what they get paid to do, they should have no problem taking a little stick from their coach if they're not putting the effort in. You don't like being called out? Don't give the coach a reason to. It's just that simple.

And Colborne is a young guy. What is he? 22? 23? People calling him a bust, and that he'll amount to nothing expose their lack of understanding of the development process. Funny thing is, the same things were said about Kadri, and look at him now. Colborne is a BIG guy. He's going to take longer, as it's not easy to improve certain aspects (like speed and explosiveness) when your legs are as tall as trees. He has the mind for the game, he has the hands, and he has the body. He's just gotta put it all together. It almost always takes bigger guys like Joe longer to do that.

D'Amigo just scored a nice goal.

Devane fought a guy right after. He had an easy take down, didn't even really look like he was trying.

Owuya just let in a soft goal from the boards around the hashmarks. He wishes he had that one back no doubt. Will be listed as a SH goal, but it really wasn't. It had been 4-4 for like 1.5 minutes and the marlies player just stepped back on the ice when the goal happened, wasn't even in the play yet.

Ashton just scored. Yeo chipped the puck to center ice, Ashton chased after it. Got into the offensive zone on a semi 2 on 1. Kept it and scored.

I think it may have touched Gysbers stick, Either way not pretty.

They got one back right away which was good to see.

For sure and it was literally right back. Right after the goal I started typing out the first part of my last post and before I was even done Ashton had scored. Solid lead going into the 3rd, they should take this.

Good game from the Marlies. Gardiner was excellent. Owuya was solid. Devane was a beast today as well.
