I'm pleased to hear that about Kazmir. He has ace stuff, if he can put it together for this season that could make the Indians a playoff team.
No, he had ace stuff. Great change, terrible fastball that doesn't move, and his slider is different now that he's had arm issues. I don't think he throws anything else.

Was about to say that. Stuff goes away with age, injury and bad mechanics. Kazmir is like some sort of triple whammy.
Yankees are fortunate the injury happened now with over a month before the season. Gardner can fill in at CF and they can find a filler in LF until Granderson gets back.
2 games into spring training and we have no shot at the division?
Why would you
Listen I'm the YAnkees homer around here but even I see that this team is too old in a competitive AL East to do much of anything. And the Granderson injury just hurts them more.

I like the Jays or Rays to win it.
I think February 24th is way to early to count anyone out, but especially a team that I feel has great pitching. They just need to score more, and they can if they get it through their heads that it's not 2009, they're not gonna hit 6 homers every night, and they utilize their speed a little more. There was no stealing or chiseling today, but you don't necessarily expect that stuff in spring training. Let's wait til the real games start to see if they can adapt.
If they still can't hit getting deep into April we can talk about too old. For now, it's 30 degrees outside. It's not time to write anyone off.
Granderson out awhile. Spring training is so pointless.
Come on now. This isn't like the 4th pre-season game in the NFL, the pitchers need work to get up to pitching 6-7 inning starts. If you want to see terrible pitching start cutting down on spring training. Heck even with the current ST schedule relievers really don't get enough time.

The Yankees rotation is good enough to keep them in the race all season.
Still, there's no question that the Granderson injury is going to hurt them badly. With Grandy down, the players responsible for 162 of the team's 245 homers last season are either injured or playing for someone else. For a team that relies so heavily on the long ball, that's a potential disaster.
