Are you sure? I thought he fought earlier. I'm a bit tipsy so I might of forgot. Either way it was another pointless fight by him. Don't want him playing when Carter returns.

This team is hard to watch right now.

Volch needs to see pine.

barch is god awful. he's a deer in the headlights anytime the pucks on his stick. constantly misplaying the puck in all zones. and on top of all that he's a terrible fighter. get him out of the lineup when carter comes back. and get JJ off the PK

Volchenkov will never sit. DeBoer is in love with his "physical" play which leads to many costly penalies...

And I'm in no way calling out Hedberg for this loss, but the nonsense of him vs. Marty needs to stop. Never mind puck stopping abilities, the Devils are just not the same without Marty pushing the puck up the ice with his puck handling. He's not as solid at it is as he was ten years ago, but he still helps tremendously to reduce the pressure opposing teams put on the Devils in the offensive zone.
If anything those posters who want Moose to split time with Marty (You know who you are) can look at Moose's last 3 starts, and the stat watchers who bashed Marty last year can get a load of that. His overall save percentage has gotta be below 900 after these last two ****fests. The Isles game he didn't have a chance on much. These last two he didn't cost us the game, but he let in some stinkers that's for sure.

He's best suited as a backup. That's why he plays better when he's coming off the bench sporadically.Marty is conditioned to be a starter, and that's why he looks best when he plays more. And looks rusty when used sparingly. This speaks for itself. This is no opinion or theory I've made up.

Barch isn't that bad. He's the least of the problems. Salvador and Volchenkov are aided greatly by Marty's puck skills if you haven't noticed.

Definitely therapeutic. There's not much more that can be said. The one after the Isles game was tremendous.

This season is reminding me of the Julien through Lemaire pre Maclean seasons.

They all had 4 distinct phases:
Phase 1: Start the season with a few shaky games
Phase 2: Look like a totally unbeatable machine
Phase 3: Start playing sloppy but win most games despite it
Phase 4: Continue playing sloppy and be unable to string together any winning streaks the rest of the season because of it

Because of the lockout we skipped phases 1 and 2 and started in phase 3.

Of course the current meme is to now pretend that these past 7 games are the only ones where the Devils have looked sloppy at all when in reality they've been sloppy all season long and you can count the number of periods where they played well for an entire 20 minutes on one hand.

There is no way I trade Merrill after a game like this. No way in hell.

Barch is NOT the problem. Guy plays 5 minutes a game. When he's on the ice, he doesn't make too many stupid plays; he usually has good patience. This Devils team is not too physical; at least Barch throws his body around every chance he gets.

This is what I've been saying. Had some great wins, but we also had a good PP, a more than efficient PK, and outstanding goaltending.

Now we have a dried up PP, the team doesn't even know what a PK is anymore, and some not very good goaltending these last two games.

I don't know. It's not over until it's over. That's all I have to say.

We went from 3 to 1 to 2 and now to 4.

One more thing. We were actually doing great at even strength. Now we are giving up goals all over the place. Even stregnth of PP goals it don't matter.

Our goals against at even strength was like 3rd best in the league coming into this weekend.

A lot of things need improvement.

Defense has become porous, PK is laughable, PP is wildly inconsistent.
