LOL, Something I got off the B's board

Any thoughts anyone?
Savard is not a Ribeiro clone

Savard 20:30 min a game Kovalchucks linemate??
Ribeiro 16:34 game Uhhh....we have Koivu???

Savard 97 points A fire hydrant could score 100pts with Kovalchuk and Hossa
Ribeiro 51 points

Savard 212 shots Everyones too busy watching Ilya and Hossa!!!
Ribeiro 130 shots

Savard 28 goals
Ribeiro 16 goals

Savard faceoff % 51.6 and he took 29.5% of team faceoffs
Ribeiro 44.7 % and 17% of faceoffs taken

Savard - Sometimes used on PK Does the coach still have a job???
Ribeiro - never used on PK

Savard - feisty pest led Atlanta with 100 PIMS feisty guys take people with them
Ribeiro - Soft as glass had 36 PIMS I thought this one was funny

Savard + 7 on a poor defensive team Ilya? Hossa? None would call either a defensive genius
Ribeiro -6 on an average defensive team

So Savard beats Riberio by a wide margin in every concievable way. Wide margin?? Doubt that. If you give me a pick? I may pick Savard, but I feel they are very close, then I look at their contracts and will take Ribiero over Savard any day of the week

They forgot about their contracts...

Savard wins twice more. I'd rather have Savard but not at 4.....sorry. So, yeah I'd take Ribeiro at 1.9

Well then you are a fool and i'm quite pleased you are not the General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens because you have no ability whatsoever to evaluate talent.

Stupid thread but I'l try too open some light here !

Forget Ribeiro since Savard was a 1st line player, talk about Koivu now.

First, Hossa wasn't on the same line than Savard.
Koivu was your first line center with the best offensive players of your team and got lot of PP time but finish with 35Pts and 11 goals less than Savard and was +1 versus Savard +7 ?

Koivu Shot on goal ? OH, an impressive 138 !!!!
Koivu PP goals ? Wow, 5

Ans Salary is about the same of Savard !!!!

Clearly Savard's much better than Koivu. And as such, Boston is much better than Montreal.

I hope for Boston's sake that they make Savard captain. He's clearly going to lead the B's to the promise land.

Thanks for taking the time to enlighten us, Bruinster.

By the way, kudos to your GM for getting Savard at such a bargain! (or perhaps the Habs just vastly overpaid Koivu, since he's in the same salary-range as offensive super-stud Savard?)

Yeah, I agree that the thread is nonsense. I just have to give a B's fan a hard time when they're here. Especially since one of your mods unfairly warned me earlier today.

Statistics aren't everything, winning is a better indicator. Twice the mighty Thornton and the rest of his teammates lined up to shake Koivu's hand after first round playoff defeats. Between those twin debacles Thornton lined up to shake the Devils' hands after a first round dismissal. Last season the Bruins were spared that humiliation--they didn't make the playoffs. Are they a sure bet to make the playoffs this season even with Chara and Savard? Time will tell. But even if they do, it's worth remembering that Chara is used to going home after the first round, while Savard didn't make the playoffs when he played for the Thashers.
