The hit by Skille last season against Washington could have started the tear and the hit against Pittsburgh may have aggravated it and caused the shoulder dislocation; I say this because the hit that caused the injury looked innocent. Could be anywhere from 3 weeks recovery to 5 months if surgery is suggested.
This is what I immediately thought of as well. I've torn the labrum in both of my shoulders, which led to chronic problems including partial separations almost every time I played hockey. I waited until after I finished college hockey to get the surgeries to fix my shoulders and the bone around my shoulder socket had worn down so much, and the labral tears had gotten so bad, that they had to graft bone onto the socket to repair it.

If this is indeed the problem Enstrom has, I'm guessing he will probably be doing a lot of physical therapy to help strengthen his shoulder and he'll wear a brace to help keep it stable for the duration of the season. Then, he might be able to have surgery to repair the labrum in the offseason. It's something you can play through, but you will have to deal with partial dislocations (called subluxations) or potentially full separations and potentially make the problem worse.

Here is another important question, with Enstrom most likely to miss time who will be paired on the top D line with Buff? Will it be Bogosian?

Doubt it'll be Bogosian, you need to spread the talent across 3 pairings. I'd say it'll be Hainsey like in the Boston game. Let's just hope he doesn't keep scoring on his own team

I think you'll be right on what Noel will but as much as I like to support Hainsey at times, I would rather Bogosian up there for two reasons:
1) History (last night and last two seasons) have shown that Hainsey and Byfuglien don't seem to do very well. Some chemistry just doesn't seem to be had.
2) It's time we start training Bogosian to start playing on the left side. Longterm it's for the best if Bogosian can get some experience like that for when he forms the punishing pair that is Bogosian-Trouba. ef you every other team in the league.

Would like to see:

Bogo Buff
Hainsey Postma
Stuart Redmond

Bogo has the wheels to cover Buff, and his physical presence would add an interesting twist to Buff's game.

Agree with you garret - a Bogo Trouba pairing in future would be scary for opposing forwards.

What is this? A guess? Or do you have a source that this is indeed the injury?

I doubt None is at liberty to reveal his source, so we may have to choose whether to believe him.
None, do your sources tell you that the shoulder was dislocated, then reduced (relocated) in the dressing room before the MRI, or was this a shoulder (AC) separation. You used 2 different terms in your post.

I have torn my rotator cuff and had a 3rd degree separation of my AC joint. Neither required surgery. The AC was more painful, but healed a lot lot lot quicker.

so...any word yet about the extent of Enstrom's injury? TSN says he's out indefinitely, but has he been placed on injured reserve?

Also wondering whats up with Enstrom.. how long do you guys think he'll be out? The lack of confirmation on the extent of his injury is frustrating

Enstrom should be back after a week or so unless he needs surgery, correct?

In all reality, he could play through a dislocated shoulder with the help of an arm brace.

It is weird how our defensemen take turns getting hurt.

Our top defensemen like Bogosion, Byfuglien & Enstrom have rarely been healthy or playing at the same time.

Like never
It's extraordinarily frustrating. People like to judge our D-core but we almost never actually have our full top4.

Depends what the injury is. Ignoring the pain; if he has a sprain there is the risk of shredding the ligament completely. That wouldn't be good.

I agree. The Jets never give any injury info. If everyone didn't see the injury and knew it was the shoulder, it would be listed as an upper body injury. Likely no one will know when he is due back, until he is ready to get back in.

Stepped on a stick and fell, ran into the boards. Concussion like symptoms.

No one outside of the Jets organization knows. The NHL really needs to adopt the NFL policy on revealing injuries
