More interested in Nikitin, what would you want for him, PRV.

We'd be giving up our #1 defenseman. It's not worth it unless Hemsky's a legit star.

Take a look at his Columbus career sometime.

Working out a deal isn't impossible at this point, but MPS is not who we would accept.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

That is a poopy trade. I'd expect that from a Toronto fan but Edmonton, cmon.

More like:

To EDM

Jack Johnson

To CBJ

Jordan Eberle

Columbus would need a forward better than MPS. Sadly there's too big of a gap there in Edmonton.

It's either a guy like MPS or an untouchable which doesn't lend itself to making trades.

I wonder if Sam Gagne would be considered an "untouchable." Or would he be considered? Not saying I like him coming back for JJ just speculating.

Gagner would be a good fit in Columbus. Unfortunately, Edmonton needs him as their 2C as they have virtually no depth at the centre position.

Is he still their leading scorer?

I'd consider him only available for a better center.

But JJ is a NHL Dman right now. There's no guarantee that Marincin will ever be an NHL Dman.

I'd take the sure thing.

Now hold on just a damned second. There are two possible statements that you're making with the bolded sentence.

1) That all of us who watch CBJ hockey are "untrained", or that most of us are "untrained". That's simply not true, but an attitude that I would expect regardless. We've seen good defensemen, we've seen bad defensemen and, believe it or not, we're not just a bunch of rubes who can be easily buffaloed by a flash of skill at the expense of everything else.
2) That Viqsi is "untrained". That's beyond being merely untrue; that's an outright lie.

A lot of us saw Jack Johnson in Los Angeles and are fully aware of what everyone else thinks. And I and everyone else can tell you (and have been telling you) that Johnson in LA and Johnson in Columbus are not even close to being the same player.

Perhaps if you tuned in to see some CBJ hockey you'd realize this. I can't blame you for not doing so; if I had to watch the Oilers every night, I wouldn't want to watch someone else's mediocrity either.

Yeah, and they'd have a big gaping hole at the blue line, again. Would be a dumb move for the CBJ.
