Oh viqsi. The hyperbole is strong. Johnson looks good to the untrained eye but further examination reveals that he is a mess defensively. And johansen is not really worth giving up much for. Serious disappointment at this point. He could turn it around but all signs point to him bein a very underwhelming nhler. I wouldn't trade hemsky for either.
Now hold on just a damned second. There are two possible statements that you're making with the bolded sentence.
1) That all of us who watch CBJ hockey are "untrained", or that most of us are "untrained". That's simply not true, but an attitude that I would expect regardless. We've seen good defensemen, we've seen bad defensemen and, believe it or not, we're not just a bunch of rubes who can be easily buffaloed by a flash of skill at the expense of everything else.
2) That Viqsi is "untrained". That's beyond being merely untrue; that's an outright lie.
A lot of us saw Jack Johnson in Los Angeles and are fully aware of what everyone else thinks. And I and everyone else can tell you (and have been telling you) that Johnson in LA and Johnson in Columbus are not even close to being the same player.
Perhaps if you tuned in to see some CBJ hockey you'd realize this. I can't blame you for not doing so; if I had to watch the Oilers every night, I wouldn't want to watch someone else's mediocrity either.
