We were looking at him to go with Bowie, but I think he benefited a lot from playing alongside the best offensive player of his era.

Marcotte is one of my all-time favorites.....very underrated, even among Bruins fans.

I'll be around for at least 4 more hours. If you're not up by then I can pass it to someone else.

I guess this means you don't want to trade me your pick.

(If you want to send it to me, you can, I'm already set with who I want. I won't be offended if you wanted to send it to someone who wasn't trying to trade up though).

The blazing fast three-time 40 goal scorer will play RW on Ottawa's top line with Elmer Lach and Toe Blake. He will be a great stylistic fit, having had his best scoring seasons in the past with strong playmaking centres.

If only he would do that more often on my fantasy team this season. First a hat-trick then like eight games without a goal.

Heh, Gaborik only played 20 more games than Ovechkin since 2002-03, despite Ovechkin missing the first two seasons of the time frame.

Gaborik is a worthy jump. Goal finishes: 3, 5, 7, 18, 19 - I looked at him for second RW spot.

Yeah, I'm glad to see very talented modern guys like Gaborik getting more love this time around, but between Gaborik and Lach, that 1st line is liable to get pretty banged up.

His even strength scoring is why I took him for my third line last year.

He wasn't getting much powerplay time but his speed and scoring ability sure fit in on my team.

I also felt that playing on my third line he wouldn't get as banged up.

Man I liked my team last year.

So did I. I would have payed the most money to see your team if this fantasy was a real hockey game - your team looked way entertaining.

Who did you play him with last year?

I saw you took him in the 500s -definitely a good value. I would have loved to get him there but he has finished another 40 goal season and been named a postseason all-star since last draft, so I didn't want to risk losing him. There's only one other player left we saw as a fit for the first line.

Ability to stay on the ice is definitely Gaborik's weak point, but he's a very good player when he plays. And even looking at his overall numbers his even strength goals are very good - 4th in the last decade with several top-10s.

Interesting. I came away thoroughly unimpressed with him when I had him last year and I think he should probably fall pretty far from this spot.

Thanks! Yeah I really tried to specialize the team into a cohesive unit but I guess that didn't fly with most people. I was pretty happy with it though.

My third line was Jere Lehtinen - Brad Richards - Marian Gaborik

And yeah, I got him in the 500s - but he was in the midst of that season you mentioned when I picked him - and as he continues to play obviously Gaborik deserves to continue to move up.

It depends on what you're looking for from him.

He has a crazy set of skills but a lack of size really hurts him defensively in this environment.

As a 6th defenseman who is there to be a PP specialist you could hardly do better. He can skate like the wind, make plays and has a booming shot.
