Pleks. To me he's the real captain. Plays hard, does everything, never complains. True leadership.

Plekanec: so dependable and underrated...quietly consistent.
those who want to trade him and keep DD...we'd be so ****ed without Pleks (there would be extra pressure on Eller and Galchy...and depending on 5'6 DD as a top 6 C would be a dreadful mistake).

Price: don't need to write anything...system is also helping him ,imo.

Subban: he's simply the best dman we've had in decades...and today's dmen are better/faster/bigger than dmen 30-40 years ago (except for Bobby Orr).

Prust: amazing acquisition...I feel more protected with him there and he can play hockey. He gives this team confidence imo.

Gorges: always quietly doing his thing...haven't noticed him too much which is a good thing for a defensive dman! I want him to pace it for the playoffs since he's a playoffs warrior.

----------------------- --------------------------

Prust and White: I feel safer with BOTH in the lineup.
Can't expect Prust to do everything...we need him fresh for playoffs.
White can play some hockey too...just give him the chance.

This.

Sure we're suprised by the good play of Prust and Diaz. Sure we're impressed by the developpement and energy of the 2 rookies. Sure Price is steady and a calming presence.

But day in and day out, for almost every shift he's taking, Plek is the best player on the ice, for both team. No mistake, dangerous in the o-zone, great in the d-zone. One of the best on PK, great at forechecking. Great passer playing with poor finishers.

He reminds me of a lesser Fedorov. I remember a coach saying, before Fedorov became a dominant offensive player statitiscally speaking, that if one looks carefully, he'll realize that he was always the best player on the ice, overall. It's almost the same with Plek this year -- I'm not comparing the 2, Fedorov was clearly better, but they're both very good at everything.

Plekanec is underated and deserves the damn Selke. This league is a popularity contest.

As the team is flirting with the first places, I wouldn't be surprise if he wins it this year.

Plekanec isn't coming close the Selke until our PK improves. So #BlameSubban.

Only way Subban doesn't take this is if you factor in the fact that he missed some games. In the games that he's played he's been our best player not named Price. Even in that blowout vs TO he was our best player along with Gallagher.

PK by a mile.
Subban has been great as always, but there's two things going against him here - one is that he missed a significant number of games, and two, he's been given third pairing minutes. Obviously he's a two way threat whenever he's out there, but he's out there on average less than Plekanec, and Plekanec is a forward.

Pleks - or Borque.

I think it's awesome that I actually had to think for a moment. Most players are excelling, currently, and of course, some could improve.

It's nice picking out those who are doing well, instead of a scapegoat, like past seasons.

That is exactly why I started this, This year there is no clear cut best player or even line this year and its awesome, I hope we cannot decide all season lol

Plekanec has been our best player. Every other player on the team has had a bad game, he hasn't. He is our leading goal scorer, plays the most, versus the toughest opposition.
Solid in every situation, in all 3 zones. Clear cut best.

The line consists of 3 players, so we don't have an absolute best line this year so far. It's been well distributed. Whenever one line has been off, another one was able to contribute, so that's great.

But overall best player is Plekanec. Price is a close 2nd, but he's had iffy performances, so I give the edge to Plek.

Plekanec. Followed by Bourque, Diaz, Subban, and Gallagher.
