Why doesn't Travis Zajac shoot more..

He has a wicked wrister, look back at the rangers series and today's shot made me think even more....anyone else agree he has a good wrister ?

Also, why doesn't he quarterback the PP at all? He's got a great clapper as well, plus the dude can pass and is defensively responsible enough.

His game tying goal in our comeback against Toronto a few seasons back comes to mind. He was at the top of the circles when he let it rip.

Boy did he ever. And he hasn't done it since, only because he hasn't had the opportunity. I don't get it.

Butler has regressed since the Pitts game. Not showing much. Could use offense from him.

Was he even really playing that well prior to the Pitt game? Seem's like that 2 point outburst is more like a blip on the radar.

This, the guy has a good shot but average in about everything else. Kind of reminds me of a Devils current prospect actually.

sit volch, give harrold a shot. gives the lineup a different dimension from the backend. but the chances of having a combined like $8 mil in the press box? ZERO

I don't think either Lou or Pete make their decisions based on dollars & cents.
They both are looking for the best opportunity to win.

Considering how many times the D has gotten caught flatfooted, Harrold in over Volch would be a welcome improvement.

Not that he's speedy - but he won't get caught taking lazy penalties trying to cover for his lack of.
It'd definitely be worth a try. Harrold needs to play and Pete likes to switch things up during losing streaks.

Butler is going to show up again on the scoreboard once the team gets back on track. He's playing with speed and energy, not useless along the boards and he forechecks and backchecks well. I'm not particularly concerned.

Too bad Zubrus is hurt. If Butler was on the wing with Elias and Zubrus he would succeed.

Hell if he was on the wing with Zubs and Loki I'd think he would succeed. He is putting in the work. Enough is enough with Barch though.

If you of all posters is willing to sub Volch for whoever, that right there is a clear cut indication that he's playing poor hockey

That could be either Volchenkov or Salvador I wouldn't see the difference... But someone is clearly unscratchable.

If you were on the coaching staff, what tweaks would you make on the road to get back to playing #NJDevils hockey? Use #NJDCoach.

They put a similar message on Facebook lol. Honestly, I'd be worried if Pete was asking the fans for suggestions. I think this is just social media trying to get a more moderate tone to all the first and second guessing.

I don't like the way Kovy is being used.

He's playing too many minutes overall which is forcing him to conserve energy on a lot of shifts.
Basically every other game he looks cooked out there.

He is a dynamic athlete and goal scorer when he has the energy to be that game breaker we all were so pumped about when Lou acquired him.

The heavy minutes is making him a glider/coaster on a lot of nights.

That and playing him at RW I am not happy about as a fan and paying customer.

I don't think it's anything more than the Devils acknowledging that we are a VERY opinionated fan base with some smart hockey minds mixed in.
We might not make it as GMs but we aren't a stupid fan base. = ]
