a lot of people are talking about trading JML but what type of return should we expect for a 3M contract player who has been sitting in the press box?

5 /6th rounder and we prob will have to take on some of that contract. Part of me thinks we are sort of SOL when it comes JML.

If Gardiner is ready to go, why does Carlyle choose to player Gunnarsson at 75% health over a 100% Gardiner?

Gunnarsson showed on Saturday that his speed and strength are poor right now. He shouldn't be put in this situation, and should be shut down until he fully recovers. If that means the rest of the season, so be it.

I believe he is 100% healthy. He is just finding his timing and speed.
He will get better each game.

No need to worry about Gunnie boy.

Well hopefully Nonis is working on a deal to clear up room (aka getting Liles and his garbage sloppy play out of Toronto). Right now were fighting for a playoff spot, makes zero sense to not have our second best defender in the lineup, assuming he is good to go.

I don't think Liles in the press box should stand in the way of Gardiner being up.

Gunnarson himself said he is not 100% healthy

He has a nagging hip problem, and the doctors told him that it won't heal until he rests for a signficant amount of time. So if he plays the rest of the season, he won't be 100% during this time.

Urgh. It wouldn't be the Leafs if all their roster decisions made sense.

If we wanted to move Liles we'd get a good return. There's a demand for PMD on certain teams. Look at what the flames had to give Wideman to fill that need on their blue line. Gardiner is held out of the lineup by our slew of borderline NHLers (the same as Liles) despite them filling a need on the team and providing more to the team.

I know it shouldn't, but I just dont like Liles so he was the one I elected to have shipped out.

Either way Gardiner should be with the big club.

definitely time to call him up - we're only hurting ourselves.

it was painful watching guys like Holzer desperately doubling back and back again trying to shed the Ottawa forechecker, but failing miserably, only to end up throwing it up the boards for an icing. Happened too many times to count last game.

We will not see Gards until a trade goes through (could be working on something but who knows....) or someone gets injured.

We just have to many bodies up at the moment, the only one i think we can move back down without waivers is Holzer (i believe). Komi is probably impossible to trade (and due to his contract cant move him to AHL) . Liles and probably gunn are the most likely targets for a trade but these trades will take time as Liles has been occupying the press box for so long and Gunn is just recently returned and obviously not looking 100%.

Gards will be back (barring a trade that would have to be for a Guaranteed #1 Center [dont you dare mention RoR.. just no...]) just give it time.

Look at the Habs, how quickly their D skates out of their D. Gardiner and Liles are the only ones who can pull that off in our team.

Yeah, our lack of breakout ability from the back-end is hurting is. The last few games we've been getting dominated on the cycle, we're lucky we've even come away with points lately. The Ottawa game was brutal, the last 10 minutes of the Philly game was embarrassing but it reached it's pinnacle tonight in this piss poor effort.

If he's ready to come back, please god call him up. Need someone who can skate the puck out of there. Right now too many guys on the blueline who can't do that.

Only D man that could make a pass tonight was Gunner, Fraser was frustrating to watch handle the puck, Phaneuf was off tonight, and damn we need some puck movers. Oh and Franson was solid.

GIMME GARDINER!!!

I don't see how he's not ready.

Look at Frattin, he got cut, didn't look so good in the AHL, got a chance and he was PPG before getting injured.

Jake Gardiner makes this team a whole lot better.

When the puck is on his stick nobody on our team makes better decisions than him...not even close.

Every defenseman except Gardiner just gives the puck away by chipping it out. Gardiner gets legit chances by going through end to end...and makes great passes.
