I didn't think there was anything particularly amazing about the movie, or anyone's performance, it was just very average. Let's put it this way, if they make another one I won't complain if my wife asks me to go see it, like I did with Twilight.
Abso-fing-lutely. Hunger Games was at least a decent movie. A few odd choices (shakey cam at the beginning and action scenes?!) and I thought there was actually a lack of violence... but overall not bad.

Twilight is completely cringe worthy. Thank god for Rifftrax...

haha I refused to go see the second twilight and anything that followed. Didn't go so well with the lady friend at the time :p will see Catching Fire though, interested to see how it does with a new director.

She is fricken amazing. First movie I remember seeing her in was the Xmen movie where she plays Mystique. I remember noticing how attractive she was then. Seeing her personality though now just propels her to the top of my list. What an amazingly cool woman. This kind of cool personality is usually reserved for ugly chicks who need to compensate for the unattractiveness.

And she comes off as the type who is probably sitting at home every night knocking down some Coronas or something.

I forgot she was Mystique, as the only movies I have seen of hers is Silver Linings Playbook and X Men First Class. Very talented.

Bradley Cooper deserved his nomination as well. Haven't seen him in a better role to date.

I kind of think people overrate Cooper's performance a bit just because of their reference point. He was way better than he ever was. But he was just good. He wasn't fantastic. He wasn't even great. His role wasn't even overly complicated either.

Joaquin Phoenix would've murdered it in that role.

You're underselling it just a bit, but I'm sure Phoenix would've done better.

It's not enough that the entire internet and nerds have fallen in love with her, now she's working on the stoner population as well.

She did announce that she had a shot before doing her post-Oscars media interviews.

Never saw what the big deal about her was but then I saw some interviews with her and she seems like a pretty cool chick. Definitely a nice change of pace from some of the other actresses that take themselves too seriously.
