3 more points in the 2 Bulls wins this weekend for Jordan Subban. Now up to 48 points in 58 games; just 8 points off of PK's amount in his draft year.
I would use our 2nd, 2nd rounder on him. not sure where he fits in the draft, but he's a high risk high reward type. he'll either have it or won't, but looking at his brothers I would be willing to take the risk.
Maybe Kekalainen would want to have his Lars Eller back with him. We could make a package deal to acquire their 1st overall or one of their 2 other 1st rounders to pick up any top 10 leftovers. Just to add a Barkov type of player to the organization would be tremendous

Kekelainen's not stupid. Those 3 first rounders could be huge in finally getting the Jackets back on track. The're going to cost a mint.

Just because Kekalainen drafted Eller doesn't mean he's obsessed with him. The Blue Jackets are actually pretty deep when it comes to two way centers, considering how many other needs they have, they have nothing to gain from trading those picks for Eller, just because Eller was one of many guys drafted by their GM.
Anismov isn't quite the same player Eller is but he makes him redundant.
Does anyone think MB has the skills and resourses to pull of a move or two to put us in position to draft Drouin? French Star Power players dont come around to often and hed go great with the Gally's.
If so what would it cost us? Would it be worth it?
After this afternoon game, I'm sold on Yan-Pavel Laplante. I very liked him already because he plays a gritty-north-south game and because he is very smart. He is able to takes good decisions and fast ones. He is also a hard-worker. But today, he showed more, he showed creativity. He was very dangerous with the puck. The way he dangled the puck at full speed was very impressionning. He is really good in all three zone. He is dominant with the puck in the neutral one and he created several turnovers in the defensive zone. The complete package. Definitely a mid-round pick !

Short answer, no he does not.
The Habs don't get a divine right to top 3 picks just because they parle français, so unless you want to trade Subban or something, trading up to the top 3 is near impossible. And at this point I can't see Drouin dropping below 3, unless Mackinnon and Barkov both do something extraordinary.
This draft has a reputation and no team is going to lose out on a top 6 or so pick unless they get something special.
The good news is this is the deepest Q draft class in a long time, so the Habs should get at least one, and probably more, good Québécois prospects out of this draft. But Drouin right now is putting up ridiculous numbers in a flashy way, he's not dropping.

Pittsburgh had to trade Jordan Staal to get the 8th overall pick in 2012.
Philadelphia had to trade Jeff Carter to get the 8th overall pick in 2011.
I know there were other pieces involved in those trades but generally speaking...you're looking at moving a pretty big name if you're hoping to get into the top 10. And that was just for the 8th overall pick - if we want the 3rd overall pick where we might have a chance at Drouin, who knows how much more it would cost. I think we'd have to start with Subban, like ELB said.
Has Jankowski done something that merits this comment?

If we pick around the 20-30 range what does everyone think of Robert Hagg? 6'2 200 pound dman from MODO

He's a draft genius. I doubt he'll trade away a 1st rounder unless he gets more 1st rounders in return.
Gauthier putting up numbers and being big can draw a lot of attention for himself.
