Sorry to be a Hater but I've only seen the NYR play 3 maybe 4 games tops where they looked like a team and one of them ( Boston ) they collapsed . The other 2 were against Bolts who didnt show up and isles where JTM scored 2 .

We are a really bad team, with a lot of injuries, coached by a stubborn idiot that doesn't realize what kind of team he has.
We definitely won't win any Cup...and now I don't even see a window. I see us as closer to a (partial) rebuild than I do a cup, with Richards and Gaborik as useless as they are. Hell, we basically had a partial rebuild after last season. One that hasn't worked out too well. Granted, injuries have played a big role in that.
I doubt we'll even make the playoffs, and if we do, it'll probably just be to sneak in only to get murdered in the first round.
ESPN Ranked us 14 (no change from last week) in the Power Rankings, this week. TOTAL GIFT. We have about as much power as the Fukushima plant.

Don Cherry on CBC (Canada) on Saturday told viewers that Brad Richards is getting killed on the ice. He showed like 5 huge hits last week alone on BR. He blaims Rangers for removing guys who protected him and who was going after guys on other teams should they allowed any liberties on your top guys (Prust, etc.).

Prust was not a deterrent in the slightest, if such a thing even exists.
Richards has taken a few big hits in the past couple games. It happens. I can't think of one this season before that.

I think this is an excellent point. We aren't able to make teams by with physical retaliation and somehow, our PP "retaliation" is about as intimidating as Matt Gilroy with a feathered pillow. Why wouldn't teams take liberties against us?
I'd be fine if he just kept collecting assists. That other $7 million player better start cashing in some goals.
heh i meant that a goal will boost his confidence and the production will follow, but i'm sure gabby will start scoring nash's leftovers soon. nash takes so much attention, the d is going to either be all over him leaving gaborik open or nash is going to score
I get that he's been rough these past few weeks, and it VERY OBVIOUSLY looks like a confidence issue. He's holding the puck too long, and thinking WAYYYYY too hard.
He's even garnering some boos from the hometown fans when he grabs the puck...WHICH IS ABSURD.
Our fans infuriate me to no end sometimes, why would we boo our own guy in that situation? How about we cheer when he touches the puck so that he feels a bit more confidence? I get that you want to buy him out wah wah wah he's not shiny and new so we hate him now, but HE IS ON OUR TEAM. WE SHOULD BE DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO HELP.
Rangers fans are the worst sometimes, shiny and new is great, but we have 20-23 guys we need to cheer on, not treat like garbage, no matter what.
We say "I AM A RANGER" and "I BLEED BLUE" so if you were a Ranger would you boo your teammate when he's struggling? NO, you'd try to help him out of it...Imagine if the fanbase cheered when he touched the puck? We'd stand out from other fans and be praised by the organization.
I thought he played a really solid ES last night. Best this year, by far.
He's still brutal on the PP, though. He needs to be off the point immediately. Teams are daring shots from there, which is why we seem to be setting up shots for Brad's mediocre shot time and time again. I rather have his passing down by the goal line, going across the crease or into the slot with passes, and somebody who can actually shoot on the point.
I like Richards and he will get out of his funk, but the contract is still something we need to get out of next summer.
Question, since the Rangers were granted an early buyout on Redden this year, are they even eligible to use the 2nd one this summer, or can it only be used in the summer of 2014.
Regardless, the only way I buy out Richards this upcoming summer if a suitable free agent acquisition or trade falls into our laps as a replacement.

you are 100% spot on with all of this.
I like Richards. I think he is a great player and great guy to help with the teams youth. Fact is he isnt producing right now. He isnt getting younger. His pay check will hurt us shortly. Unless he has a pretty instant turn around he isnt giving the Rangers much of a reason to keep him around. He should be traded while he still has value in the NHL. I doubt Torts will allow it but that is just this movies opinion.
