True. Colorado clearly doesn't believe it should sign it to contracts either. The Avs are in a tough spot with Hunwick...

I don't like the idea of trading a franchise player, but I think he could net us some really good pieces in return. We already have plenty of depth on the D-side and Zanon could probably fill that void if Hunwick gets traded. He may not have the speed, but he more than makes up for it in puck skill.

I don't get why Hunny doesn't get a try with Stastny. Our best OFD with our best playmaker would be like Christmas morning every game.

Would be very difficult to see hunny leave, hockey IQ is through the charts. Heavily relied upon by Sacco to contribute a solid 30+ minutes game after game and never fails to deliver. Numbers don't tell the whole story with this guy, love the way he plays in his own end by fooling oppossing forwards by leaving them open in the slot by 10 feet then using his quickness to almost get in the lane.

I think Hunwick could be the solution to our goalie depth aswell. Could trade the likes of Aittokallio and Pickard and use Hunwick as a backup to Varlamov. Heck Hunwick is so damn agile and fast he might steal the job for himself. Hunny is so talented I don't even think that he would need a goalie coach which is very good for our dear owners cause they don't want to pay for one anyway.

I feel that's really what this organization needs. With the overwhelming dissent for Joe Sacco, Hunwick could become this generation's first player-coach (think Semi-Pro).

Matt Hunwick had his spleen removed because it cramped his style.

Beloved child has many names.

Yesterday he once again showed his fearlessness and value to the team when deciding to take the giant Bollig on because, (unconfirmed), Matt Hunwick didn't like his beard.

That hit caught so many people off guard. Since when does Hunwick make hits like that.

The only tool the guy's got is his skating. If that wasn't elite he wouldn't be playing in the NHL. Which only means one thing, we have to break his legs...

Can't let him go now that he's a solid norris candidate, maybe when he reaches his full potential we can stack the team in the offseason by trading him

Well, he did finish off Marc Savard's career.
