If you could line up two guys like that, no matter who you line up around them, that's got the making of a special defense.

If Kelly goes full blown option, Bridgewater isn't a complete fit. He's a good athlete, not a great one and he's pretty much a pocket passer now. He was a 4.6 guy coming out of high school, but between putting on 40+ pounds and the injuries, he's not quite as explosive. He is a heck of a passer at this point in his career. As much a I don't think Manziel will be a good NFL QB, he would be a great QB in Kelly's hypothetical system. Not to mention Kelly recruited him and he was committed to Oregon before switching to A&M.
Manziel's size scares me in the nfl, plus I think Bridgewater is going to be great. If Chip is as good of a coach as he is made out to be he would find a way to modify his offense for Bridgewater.

Like I said I wouldn't bet on Manziel's success in a traditional offense, but the guy was made for the spread. With the wide splits to create throwing lanes, height isn't as much of a concern. For the time being he's so fast and shifty, no one is getting a direct hit on him. He's roughly the same size as Vick, so we will get a glimpse of how the system (if at all) affects Vick.

Manziel is 6'1 and could even grow another inch or two. He'll also put on more muscle in the years to come.

He is precisely what Chip Kelly's offense calls for in a QB.

He's listed as 6'1 which is really 6'0 and change (more or less Vick), but he's got a decent build at 200 pounds to withstand hits.

The thing is, Manziel is a much smarter QB than Vick, that hopefully he'd actually learn how to do things like slide, protect his body when taking a sack, and getting rid of the football.

That's what they do down south. They take 3 or 4 first names and make it one name. Or put a La, Le, Da, or De in front of it.

Chip Kelly is obviously punting this season. He'll try to find players and add the QB next year.

So Jadeveon is a mix between Devon and Leon with Ja in front of it.

Dee Milliner is going to undergo surgery for a torn labrum. Not sure how that effects his draft position.

Star Lotulelei has a heart condition, there is another player the Eagles could possibly take that has a health issue.

The more I am looking at this draft, the more I think trading back may be a good idea. I don't know how far back or really what a #4 pick is worth, but if they can move back to the middle of the first and get maybe another second round pick (or even a first in next year's draft...is that too much?) I think they could be ok. If Joeckel is on the board at #4 take him. If not, trade back. I am guessing one of Millner, Rhodes, Fisher, or Trufant could be had in the 10-20 range and I would be fine with any of those (even Reid or Vacarro would be a good addition to the defense in the 10-20 pick).

Ray Didinger predicted these cuts at the end of the season. Mike was a good player for us. With his health problems he really shouldn't be playing football. By my calculations, these two cuts save $8 million for this year and put the team about $33 million under the cap.

I liked Mike a lot, he was always a gamer. I read he hopes to continue playing football, though. Maybe not a smart move on his part.

chips eagles mock 13

4- dion jordan olb, oregon 36-kyle long og-rt oregon. that is money, take it to the bank.. that would be a pretty good draft for philly. nt, just grab a free agent, and nab best avail in round 3. and i will tell you this jadevon clowney, if he stays healthy is gonna be an absolute stud. like mayock and the boys said at the combine, they have been watching this guy since he was 16. and he was a man among boys at that age.6-6 olb, defensive ends dont fall off trees. if you throw jordan and clowney out at the same time, they can have some fun with rbs and qbs will be driven crazy. and tight ends and slot receivers wont stand a chance against those two. basically, you would drive offenses mad.
