However using it to someone you don't know can and is deemed offensive you don't know them. What if they are gay? That is being insulting. People need to take a second and use their brains, if I call someone with a handicapped sibling a retard you think they won't take offense because I simply didn't mean it in a negative way? Just be conscious and aware not everyone you don't know is going to know you're joking.

you can say dick on here i use it all the time, ***** i'm not sure about.

Lol...

They just said on Sportsnet that it's rare for Ottawa to meet a team that has done more with less than they have. LOL

A bunch of sports fans yelling something out in response to something else aren't really setting anyone back or really hurting anyone in a case like this IMO.

Anyway, don't want to derail the thread. I understand where you are coming from and I agree in some cases.

I hope Smitty can break his slump tonight. He deserves a goal he's been working hard for it.
I can't believe I agree with you. Good post.

Speaking of homophobia, I used to think I knew what bad homophobia was... then I moved to Indonesia.

The tolerance here for gay men is razor-thin, depending on where you live (it's more accepted in Jakarta and the surrounding areas). I've never even heard of gay women here, it's not even a thing. Women apparently aren't allowed to be gay here.

It's weird. North American homophobia ain't got nothing on what it's like around here.

I know what you mean and I in no way am trying to be a stickler I just do a lot of volunteer work with teens suffering with anxiety and depression. About 70% of cases I come across have to do with sexuality, and I just am aware of how uncomfortable people are in their own skin and I in no way want people to feel that way ever.

I'll try to not derail this GDT, but I can't stand everything that AA stands for. They were the first band to get big by exploiting breakdowns and effectively killing metalcore. It just severely bugs me that a band is so popular when I don't particularly find them deserving of any praise while much more talented metalcore/hardcore bands are pushed aside. AA also started an entire movement that has now brought tons and tons of carbon-copy bands that sound exactly like them that play nothing but God damned breakdowns. Music is personal opinion and I won't rag on someone if they enjoy something that I don't, but, this is why I absolute hate this band.

I had not considered teenagers (I'm almost 30, don't hang out with teenagers much these days!) having sexuality identity issues, yeah in that case I don't think I can call them being "stuckup"

EDIT: Go Regin Go!

I have a Zack Smith feeling. I think he breaks the drought tonight.
I feel a Gordie Howe hat trick, to be honest.

Depending on what I read here I will head to the bar after work to watch the rest (if things are going well) for hockey beer and food or go home and stream it on my giant monitor
