and really it isn't like War is a special song or anything, I mean its basically the most common riff in extreme metal so

and were I to pick up an instrument it'd be bass guitar so I'd be rocking to Motorhead before flower metal

I played bass then, it is a very easy song to learn. Bass overall is quite repetive in power metal. Thats why i started with guitar. Bass is more fun playing more rock and hardrock oriented music. Like Mr BIG (Sheehan) or as you say, motorhead. Maiden is awesome too, harris is incredible.

I'm hardly a fan of them nowadays, but the best use of any kind of orchestra in a metal setting was by Pain of Salvation on BE.

I kind of agree with this one. the live dvd of the album is absolutely spectacular.

Daniel is a genius, and sometimes that is a bad thing.

Let's make it better.

It pleases fans of all genres. Sucks that their last album wasn't good. :/

Not a fan of Devin Towshend Project. A little too artsy / boring for my tastes. Wish he would get Mean Gene, Jed, and Byron back together and re-form Strapping Young Lad. I loved that band. One of the heaviest bands ever.

You sort of said this wrong it should've went, "I am not a fan of Devin Townsend, but when I am in a mood for slower music because he is amazing at it when every genre gets extremely boring once in a while."

I think he is amazing when it comes to the slower songs. Only complaint is his hard songs are a bit too simple, but very underrated singer.

Nope I said it Exactly how I meant to. Im not one of those people who thinks that others are wrong if they do not agree with my tastes and dont argue you should like something because I do. I dont care for his solo work, it does Nothing for me.

I Loved Strapping Young Lad and am disappointed he has chosen to go in a different direction musically. I guess he lost all his magical metal powers when he cut off his Skullet.

What I meant is very genre you like will GET boring for you once in a while and there is Townsend during those times producing underrated music you have appreciated during those times.

I dont like DT's solo work and you again are being presumptuous trying to lump your tastes onto mine. And do I like some slow music, but I just dont like his solo work.

Your argument reminds me of the Tool fans who just wont accept that someone doesnt like Tool. Its because you havent listened to the right album or you Have to see them live......

Kamelot get's a lot of **** (especially on UM), but I actually think that album is pretty cool. One of the few Power Metal albums I actually like.
