like the last draft, when the Oilers went for size up front in the 2nd and 3rd round, the Oilers have decided to do it again in their never ending search for size, speed, talent and toughness up front to go with the smaller and talented players. would it happen in reality? probably not, though taking Tyler Hill early and Ross Olsson late in the draft wouldn't be a stretch for the Oilers this year....but just look at the size of these forwards!!

unexpected pattern for sure, looks like the 5th round for us will be unpredictable.

I'm not sure why Zack Mitchell isn't ranked. He has an extremely good shot, is able to see the ice very well, has 20 goals so far this year in the OHL (and 51 points), and had 37 goals last year (75 points). He seems to be having an off year ,which I'm sure isn't helping his chances of getting ranked. I think it's worth a chance to spend a 5th rounder on him ,but that's my opinion. He may not turn his game around ,but the Wild can afford this gamble after choosing some solid picks early on.

I think you have done an excellent job of all three. If I had to pick the one I though you did the best with I'd chose the Flyers , but you've done a solid job with all three teams. In particular I like Ristolainen and Olsson going to the Oilers and Hogberg and Lindholm going to the islanders.

Okay, I know what happened with Tyler Motte. He was taken off the list before I got to edit the draft board, so when I went to search for him in it, he was already gone leaving me to think he wasn't ranked. I'll fix it right now.

with the 133rd pick Tampa selects Teemu Kivihalme, defenseman, from Minnesota's Burnsville High School

TAMPA DRAFT

We came into this draft looking to fill specific organizational needs: Improve our center prospect pool; and add defensive prospects who can move the puck and score.

1-13 -- D Josh Morrissey -- We wanted a true offensive defenseman and believe we got one of the draft's best.

2-43 -- C Laurent Dauphin -- We think Laurent offers huge upside in the scoring department, both as a play-maker and goal scorer.

4-98 -- C Avery Peterson -- This Michigan high schooler is putting up 2.5 points per game and starting to catch the eyes of scouts everywhere. He's 6.02 193 pounds and still growing.

5-133 -- D Teemu Kivihalme -- Burnside High School is developing another young puck-moving defenseman that we love. He's certainly a project but we think this kid is going to be really, really good.

Such a great draft for Philly. Do not need to say much here

For NYI? Well they got lucky as hell to get Lindholm at 10, but despite that not that good IMO. Hogberg is a reach wich does not make sense. Isles have quite a good goalie prospect pool. Also I do not see the reason behind the Kokes and especially the Locke Pick. Motte is a solid pick

Edmonton got great value with Ristolainen at 12. I think you took Hill and Olsson a bit early, but it kinda makes sense for the Oilers. McAdam is a great pick. Not sure about the last pick, I think there were better and younger players available

^didn't help the Isles cause not to have a 2nd rounder or two.

i did wamt to go against the grain a little for the Oilers and Isles...why not? it's the later rounds anyways and the kookie Isles went and picked all d-men last draft!

I'm actually the same way.. I know stuff about basically most of the people from 1st-3rd rounds, anything after that, if they aren't from the QMJHL all I know is from what i've read on here.

I'm not sure what he ceiling is, but he was on my short list of D men to take in the 5th-7th rounds.

Not to sure on his ceiling, but I'll go out on a limb and say anywhere from a 5-6th defenseman realistically. However, it really depends on how much time the team that drafts him can give him to develop. It is not out of the realm of possibility that he could move into top four range. He is looked at by many as a long term project. He has good hands, great in his end, and decent speed to boot. He doesn't have a weak area per say and seems to be anywhere from average to good in most areas of the Ice. He really just needs time to grow and get all his tools in order.

^nice variety of players for Columbus, did well there...
like the first 2 picks for Ottawa as well as McNulty...
Chicago gets another talented smaller forward in Lehkonen to go with last year's pick Teravainen and like the goalie pick Saros. all in all not bad.

Looks good. The senators in particular stand out to me. I have a few issues with the Blue Jackets ,but they are just because we value certain players differently . Chicago is the weak link in the chain of the three ,but Chicago is still good.

Lehkonen was BAP available imo at 26 and he compliments several prospects that Chicago already has.

Juuse Saros helps to shore up the main weakness (to me) in Chicago's farm system which is quality goalie prospects.

Not really hot on Remi Elie ,but I really don't know much about him besides that he plays a physical game.

All in all I say you've done a great job so far.

I don't really know anything about him.. He's posted great numbers this season, but other than that I can't say.. No doubt that Detroit will develop him the right way; they always do.. And their ability to find that one diamond in the later rounds is mind-blowing. Considering the goalies available, i'd say the right choice was made.

Haha, don't get me started on those Columbus picks!! I already said that the first two picks were to "shake things up"..

I don't know much about Remi Elie, basically, I kinda just picked him..
