Especially when you consider that we have been playing really stellar defense and that he is 10th in save% (you're being generous in not counting some players i bet) while having a much better rank for GAA. That's very telling.
I'm sorry but he's not had a top 5 season up to now.
some in here need to stop whining. we played 90% of the game in their zone. we lost the skills competition. **** happens. that said, Gionta's play is full blown worrisome. he's not a top 6 player anymore. he's not a buyout candidate because of Kaberle, but if i'm bergevin i'm looking for another top 9 forward asap
I'm sorry but what were the shot totals exactly? Yeah. Senators had no business to be in this game. Habs manhandled the Senators all game, and if it wasn't for a weak goal and THREE posts, not to mention a hot goalie, they would've probably swept the floor with them badly.
At the end of the day shots don't win games, goals do. The goalie is a part of the team too and as a Habs fan you should know that. Give credit where its due
Man is Ottawa bad or what? Ben Bishop carried them, end of story. Habs had an amazing game, and we all know Price is awful in the shootout. We should've won, but it happens when you run into hot goalies.
Well Bishop is part of the Sens too. And take a look at their line up, take a look at the injury list, take a look at the standings.. They are not that bad.
8-9 players in their line up tonight have under 50 nhl games in their career and they still beat us. Give them some credits.
Habs were the better team tonight, top nine played ridiculously, we should be proud of this team. Senators are getting lucky, just wait until reality starts to set in once their goalies come back down to Earth (hopefully!)
One of those post-shots go in and this board would be singing the praises of the Canadiens. Just appreciate that we severely outplayed them and hope we put out a similar performance against the Maple Leafs!

I don't see how you guys are complaining about Price. One on One the shooter has the advantage. Our shooters in the shoot out were terrible.
Who cares about stats, Price wasn't busy at all and didn't face any dangerous shots. Should have been 24 / 24. And he also had another chance to be better than Bishop in the SO but couldn't do it.
The Habs had the killer instinct all night long. When you play against a goalie who could stop 40+ shots and survive two posts, what more could the Habs do?
You cant win them all.
Take the one point, applaud the effort of having outplayed the Senators and move on. Anything else is ridiculous.
This man is right. We outplayed the Sens the entire game and we got Halak'd.
There's a difference between a honest player who brings a lot of things but happens to be weak in SO, and a guy who does absolutely nothing good out there, and doesn't even get a shot on net when he could've been useful for his team for the first time in the first 20 games this season.
Gionta is so useless out there... it's not even funny. At least Gomez could skate the puck into the zone. Gionta can't even do that properly.
Like I said, I understand where the hostility is coming from. At this point I'd trade Gionta for anything and use the free cap space to get a real top 6 winger this summer, because Gionta is no longer a top 6 winger and is getting paid like one.
I don't hate him though, because he still is driving posession with Plekanec, but without the superior Bourque on the other side of Plek, relying on him for offense is becoming increasingly sad. There's really no room for him on this team anymore, he's no longer a 30 goal guy and he's one "smurf" too many.

I gave credit where it's due. The Senators had no business winning this game but they had a hot goalie. It happens.
I'm just saying Habs severely outplayed them and were by-far the better team tonight. End of story.
lol Carey wasn't very good tonight, didn't look sharp at all but the fact that people are mad him probably just shows how good he is and how much we expect.
As for the shootout, yeah he gave up 2 goals on the 4 shots but it just jived with the rest of his night, unsure and just not on. Goalies have those nights. We weren't going to score again anyway.
