I know I just look at it as we haven't lost at all during the course of an actual game.

True, but we haven't won in every game either.

You can call the Hawks 16-0 if you hate the shootout. You don't know how the three games lost in a shootout go if overtime is continuous.

Yeah, the opposition has figured out how to collapse in a "box"

That is why they're booming from the point with Seabrook, Keith, Leddy. That is why Sharp isn't scoring on the PP.

Seabrook has a hard shot but put 105 mph shot over the oppositions heads and that "tight collapse" will break real fast.

Thats why we will trade for J-bo...

14-0-5 under the old system sounds pretty good tbh

There's 29 games left in the year and depending on say the next 15 or so games it'd be good to start giving guys breaks, days off limited ice time. I don't care to sacrifice our Playoff success at the expense of a regular season record.

It's still way too early to be thinking about that. You have about 20 more games before you start thinking about resting guys.

My mistake. You are correct. You can't discredit the shootout for the three marks you got in the OTL column but celebrate the two wins it got you.

After a start like the one were having these boards will be laughing at us if the Hawks don't at least see the third round. I already feel like the Hawks are killing themselves just to keep it going.

Agreed...

They're playing too much like playoff hockey, at the same time tho it is only a 48 game season.

I hope "Captain Serious" has put that notion into perspective..

I may be in the minority, but I think it is good for them. The Hawks biggest problem the last few years has been apathy. Coasting thru games expecting to win instead of working to win. Last year when the Hawks gave up a bad goal or the bounces weren't going their way the team would just downshift and go into a lull. This year when the bounces aren't going their way or the goalies give up a bad goal the team seems to be playing with a gigantic chip on their shoulders hell bent on overcoming the bad breaks. Plus, despite the intensity they are playing with the players really aren't being overworked. The ice times for the top guys are down from last year.

The only thing I would be slightly concerned about is a more mental burnout, but I don't see that as a likely outcome. It seems to me that the Hawks from top to bottom realize how good they can/should be and aren't going to piss away anymore time being mediocre (except of course on the PP where mediocre would be an improvement).

This team is golden...

This team is as good as the 09-10 team, we won't have to dump depth this time.

This is what you get when you draft well and keep your kids.

If you cant contribute and play - you're cannon fodder. I suppose many GM's cant say that because their bill fold of prospects is weak...

The Hawks are in a cap position to bring in epic depth...Not to mention they don't need and in some cases don't want_______. Leave the ___ up to your imagination, that or understand what it makes to be a complete team.

We're 2 players away from that.

Goaltending...can't remember any backbreaking bad goals given up at all so far during this streak like there were last season...this is a HUGE reason for the Hawks' success.

Back-breaking goals are only back-breaking goals if the team lets it dictate the outcome. Both Crawford and Emery have given up a few soft goals this year, but the team's not letting it discourage them or stop them from winning/tying the game.

my little observations...

Saad took stupid penalties, blame it on him being a rookie
Hoss is back, great finish to the game

and I think Emery is still waiting for the whistle on the 1st goal against while laying on the ice

Nope he isn't hurt, the reason why is wasn't out there much is because of match ups, that's why Johnny Oduya played more minutes.

When you give up a goal in OT on something that wasn't technically a shot that's back breaking.

not sure about that... they haven't let in softies this year. There may be 2-3 for each they would want back, but that's normal and happens to every goalie.
