Montreal Media Punks

As you may know the media is responsible for alot of the B.S rumours going around. If you don't know how bad its getting..It's BAD. So bad infact a couple of free agents are unwilling to sign because of how bad the media is over here. Now its a problem now whats going to happen in the future...it's only going to snow ball and we wont be able to sign any good players in order to elevate our team. Then we'll soon be lucky to make the play-offs. I for one am not gonign to sit back and let this happen...the media has messed wiht our heads and hurt our beloved teams reputation long enough..

Many players who have played for our team loved it because it felt like a family..i think its time that WE the FANS band together and become like a family and stop this nonsense. Me alone i can't do anything..but together we can make the media afraid.

Afraid to rite anythin derogatory towards our team afraid to make up rumours just to get exposure.

I suggest when anything goes on..anything bad anything derogatory towards members of this hockey club..we post the link into refrence and contact the source and we let them know how WE FEEL about there unfactual statements...as well as go to our local media heads and contact them that a rival media source is printing false statements we use the media to fight the media(we dont even have to leave the computer its only an email away my frineds)...we band together and tell these fools that we are not going to take it. Whose with me?!

Stranger things have happened!

Although boycotting the advertisers would probably help more.

im suggesting we get on a mailing list and then when the media make some "trashy" statements towards the members of our franchise we refrence along with the email of the supervising editor and we all send and individual email to him or her regarding our thoghts on this nonsense and how it needs to stop ..boycotting the advertisers products is a good idea also emailing local media and letting them know a competing media giant is printing out false reports...its suggestions lets think together and we'll find away...

Hmmm...
attacking press we don't like...

This sounds like exactly what Bush is doing in the US...

be happy there's people writing what they want, without fear that the president will accuse them of treason.

what can we do?

could we prepare something with lots and lots of names and send it everytime someone is not doing his job correctly?

we could start to evaluate their work as close as they do with the habs.

maybe we could start from there and see.

1. Identify the offending media
2. Write or email them
3. Don't buy the newspapers
4. Don't watch shows like 110%
5. Write the players and tell them you support them against unfair attacks

i dont think one email with lots of names is going to do it...i think 1 individual writes 1 email.....along with all the hundreds that we have banded together at the same location(media..editor,writer the source of rumour)

With only 1 with alot of names isn't so bad as more than a hundred with angry letters sayin stop it, we don't like hwat your doing and we're going to do something bout it.

While I can appreciate the frustration with the media, I don't understand how we have any room to complain. The vast majority of individuals here watch 110% for 'entertainment', or subscribe to whatever nonsense (eg. Morency with his Souray-demanding-a-trade bit) these media outlets spew. These media sources are just giving the people what they want.

It's not the media's fault. It's all the people that find it entertaining.

Exactly, that seems so obvious to me. People are complaining about how bad the media are, how dumb 110% is, yet we always have the reports...

Just stop to be a customer. They'll change pretty quickly then...

the media is effecting our players...the media doesnt harm us it harms them..turning off your t.v is not going to stop our players from hearing what the media puts out there. Complaining to them about what they are saying is going to..

Guys free agnets have already spoken that the main reasons they won't come to play here is because of the media...this is going to hurt our chances in the future..look at the big picture

i understand your point but if we want to do something, we need to start with something. not sure people will do it as much as we'd like them to do.

its very hard to make people move so if they have to do something, thats gonna be a hard task at least for now. even more when people dont know if its gonna work. we live in a society where nobody does nothing for nothing so imo we need to start somewhere.

we need to start lowball and grow from there.

thousands of email would be the best but i doubt we can start from there.

LOL @ This utopist thread.
It's like 100°C outside and you're on a Habs forum.

They wrote those news for you, you and you. (and me!)

If you complain but people still buy newspapers, listen to the radio or watch TV, they won't care at all about your complaining, 'cos they'll know it won't cost them a penny. They're mostly living of advertising, and if sales/listening/watching don't dive, that won't change anything.

On the other hand, if sales/listening/watching take a hit, you'll see them wonder what's wrong and care about your opinion pretty quickly.

Now, it's another thing to make people boycott "entertaining" Habs media coverage...

I believe we should start a email account sort of a base of communications...and within it start a mailing list with all our supporters(you people the habs fans).

When the media reports some false information or anything that harms the reputation of our players we need to locate the source link and the writers link and the editors link put it in one email forward it throughtout the mailing list and hope that its supporters take the following actions on emailing the refrenced links and let them know how they feel

I'm in. I hate those idiots.

I think we should have a sticky that analyzes each media personality. What they say, what they predict, trouble they start, etc.

Those guys are just total idiots. I'm a huge hockey fan and I'm sick of reading all that garbage mixed in with the real hockey news. It's like British tabloids or something.

Let's start with a list of the media personalities:
110%: Bergeron, Brunet, Ciccone, Bureau?, ?
RDS: Demers,
Gazette: Todd, Fisher, Zurkowsky, Hickey
Radio...

others?
