I don't like the idea of the Isles passing on Monahan even with Strome, Nelson, and more in the system.

Isles should take Nurse if they are outside of the top 6, a few years from now he could be a better player than Jones. His development has been very good. He could be a guy who is a top 5 pick when it's all said and done.

Short of winning the lottery and drafting mckinnon I think monohan is the perfect fit behind rnh for many years.

Oilers dont pass up Monahan at 7, he is a perfect #2 to RNH

Zadorov is too low

Morreale:

Not too shabby list, hard to pick out anything as a reach or too low

Hoffner:

Again I dont think Morrissey is the guy to take over Monahan.

Jordan Subban wont go first round

Isn't that what Sam Gagner currently is?

The knock on Gagner is that he isn't strong enough defensively, or physically to be a dominant number two C. His offensive numbers are good, and that is it.

Oilers won't pick a goalie top 20, let alone top 10. Horrible choice for them. Based on your draft, Gauthier, Nurse and Pulock are the three guys I would expect the Oilers to be interested in.

2nd line C or top 4 dman is what they would covet right now. They would leave the goalie and select him with 37 or whatever. (Jarry, Martin, Petersen, Saros,Comrie)

Yeah, solid goalie but certainly not a first-round pick... Ristolainen at #30 is even more weird though.

Monahan is a nice big strong center that would compliment RNH nicely

I love Gags, but he's a smaller, slower RNH

Kimmelman may be confusing Compher with Santini, that's my guess

There lists really miss the mock part. They give a **** what a teams draft strategy or needs are.

If Tampa will pick outside of the Top10 and either Zadorov or Nishuskin is still available Yzerman will draft them. We are one of the few clubs that can convince Russian to come over. And Yzerman was pretty succesful with drafting the Russians others overlooked (Kucherov, Nesterov, Gusev and FA signings Sergeev and Korobov). So no way we will leave them on table.

And thats just one example. An other would be Ottowa drafting Fucale

Lindholm and Monahan are too low on both lists. Neither should be lower than sixth on any list.

I like the one where Columbus gets both Mackinnon and Lindholm along with Mueller (haven't really heard anything about that kid but he's mid-range in two of these mock drafts).

I think it's fair to say that the top six will (should?) consist of in no particular order:
Seth Jones, Nathan Mackinnon, Jonathan Drouin, Sasha Barkov, Elias Lindholm, and Sean Monahan. I don't see Nichushkin in there but maybe a team grabs someone like Nurse or Shinkaruk over one of the Europeans.

Yeah I agree the top 6 are pretty set in stone. Whoever gets one of those players will be extremely happy IMO.

I always have a 'pick of the draft' not that it is the best player or whatever - but someone that I like and believe will reach full potential.

Last year was Griffen Reinhart, I will stick with the similar mold and go with Darnell Nurse.

IMO both will be rock solid Dmen in the NHL. Both were ranked around the same spot pre-draft. I see Nurse jumping up higher than expected to a team looking for his skillset.
