4 of the top 11 from the NE, didn't expect that one!

This. I still expect to be battling for a playoff spot right until the final week, maybe even game.

This. Nothing is certain yet. There is a lot of hockey left to play.

The lockout is throwing things off for me....I look at the standings and see 20 GP but it still hasn't dawned on me that there's only 28 games left in the season.

IT's nice but it's just rankings.

I'm with LR, lets see some playoffs. Since we obviously have thrown any hope of MacKinnon or Drouin out the window.

The real games just started, with no camp and preseason, now is where teams are going to start ramping up and being who they truly are so lets just see how the next 10 go.

One of Montreal, Ottawa or Toronto will fall back down a bit.

I do expect 4 of the 5 NE teams to make the playoffs though.

I don't think so. Each divison has at least one playoff team due to the divisional winners. So that takes up 7 spots with the 5 from the one division. So there's only one spot for one other team.

4 teams in one division is all ready a tough feat to do, 5 would take quite a bit of 3 point games inter-division and a whole division sucking very badly.

When was the game marker last season when Wilson and the Team drove off a cliff?

It's entirely possible we have 4 Northeast teams this year, with 3 Atlantic and one Southeast.

We started rolling in January and fell off the cliff entirely on Sundin night in February at game 56. So whats that? About 2/3 of the season.

four teams from a division make playoffs all the time:

Last year, it was Atlantic and Central.
In 2011, it was Pacific
In 2010, it was NorthEast (except us )

And it is kind of obvious we are rated ahead of Sharks. Sharks have won only 1 out of their last 10.

Sweet.

I had honestly forgotten how it feels to actually like the team I cheer for. Thank god for Randy.

I could care less about these rankings, what I care about it the league standings and finally making the playoffs. Nice to see the Leafs recognized but these "Power Rankings" don't tell us anything we don't already know: (and knew before they decided to finally recognize it) our team is doing well thus far.

Thanks man. I really believe that montreal game was a big turning point for our franchise, it's games like that where I remember why I'm a Leafs fan.

TSN rankings or no, we are very clearly a different team than we were with Maurice and Wilson, and it's about effing time.

The Leafs are going to the Cup Finals this year. Their is no way any Eastern Conference team can handle the Leaf's toughness in a 7 game series.
