I'm not against adding him for a playoff run, but I am saying I wouldn't sell the farm (or possibly even a Fisher Price farm playset) for him. Philly dumping his huge cap hit for the next two years helps them immensely. I'm not prepared to do them any favors unless it has a real, tangible benefit for us.
For a few years now the Philly fans seem want to get rid of Briere, then when the playoffs arrive the love affair blossoms again.

Milan alone for Yandle is such a reach. No chance in hell. Milan + Puempel + a 1st is far more likely the asking price.

lol, just took their cap hits this year.
it starts out fun to do that but then i realize how much time im wasting....
so add $3 million and assume alfie gets the same pay.

its easier to get top 6 forwards than it is top 2 defencemen.
pls see my previous plan, and adopt it.

Trade deadline isn't until April 3rd, still lots of games to be played before it is clearly established who are the buyers and sellers.

Sens don't need a top 2 D to play second pairing minutes, they need top six wingers.

Acquiring young proven top six wingers has been a pretty elusive goal for the Sens for several years.

If we go on a slide and are on the outside looking in, I don't think he makes any deal for a short-term boost that would cost us a young player or a pick in the first 3 rounds.
Murray has said no rentals and for a rebuilding team it makes sense.

I believe any deal Murray makes will be with the longer term in mind, otherwise his additions will be from the Sens infirmary.

ive previously noted that our top needs are:

1. Top line talent winger
2. Top line talent winger/forward
3. #2/#3 defenceman

Yandle was just part 3 of my 3 part plan....

1. Perry UFA
2. O'Reilly for Zbad and Weircoch
3. Yandle for Michalek, Puempel and a 1st

it may not be realistic but its a plan, and really it requires all 3 steps work out. lol

Michalek, Puempel and a 1st for Yandle
Zibinejad, Weircoch for O'Reilly
$7.5 million to Perry as UFA

Turris moves to Spezza's wing on the LS

Turris (1.4) Spezza (7) Perry (7.5)
Silfverberg (.9) O'Reilly (4) Alfie (4.8)
Greening (.8) Smith (0.7) Neil (2)
Condra (.6) Regin (.8) O'Brien (.6)

Karlsson (6.5) Methot (3)
Cowen (1.2) Yandle (5.2)
Phillips (3) Benoit/Gryba (1)

Andy (3.1)
Bishop/Lehner (.6)

Forwards $31.8 million
Defence $19.9 million
Goalies $3.7 million

Total $55.4 million.

Awesome young team with loads of high end talent. Great size and speed.
Waaaay under the cap with our best players making their max a few decent raises along the way - no cap issues going forward.
No holes in this lineup and we still have Ceci, Noesen and Stone in the cupboard.

Ceci steps in for Phillips after next year, Stone slots into the 2nd line after Alfie retires - and we still have Noesen. not to mention any picks from the next 2 drafts.

Come on admit, you truly love this team.
Does it all fall apart because perry wont sign here, not enough for Yandle or we dont land O'reilly? or all three....
I like it, 1 question?

Who plays on the right? I assume you where in a hurry when you put Karlsson on the left....... Yandle or Cowen, can either play on the right side if they can I am all in.

I think the only way Yandle is dealt is for a #1 center

I'm calling it right now. Columbus will trade the lowest of their first round picks (most likely NYR's once they get their poop together) for Ben Bishop.

Jarmo wants his goalie back.

what if they came back saying they need a 3rd?

i'd do it as well, but i think 4th would be my limit. the kings fans are also saying they would take a physical d instead of a pick.

If I'm Ottawa I try to sell Bishop to the Islanders for something involving Nino Niederreiter. There's a deal to be made there -- the Islanders aren't going to have an issue with offence moving forward; they definitely need help stopping goals.

See, I don't see them doing that after JUST trading for Bob. Then again, he's more of a 1A guy right now and they could probably use a 1B guy as well since Mason isn't cutting it.

I just checked Capgeek and Mason's contract is up. If they dealt Mason for a mid round pick and sent us an early 2nd/last 1st for Bishop I be more than happy.

The problem is finding someone to give up something for Mason.

They're very against this trade, which makes me laugh a bit, because Bishop is a quality goaltender and Nino will not want to play there.

His value is gone, they need to deal with a team that actually has depth somewhere to give up.
