Finally. This is much better. I've been waiting for the Moen-White-Prust line.

Yet, somehow I'd like for Prust to the same amount of minutes he was receiving as a top 9 player.

Gionta should drop at 3rd line instead of Cole.... only 1 EV goal so far this season only Armstrong is doing worse with 0.....

Had BGally played yesterday, the Habs would have won.

I'd drop Cole from the lineup entirely, Armstrong is at least playing with some effort. Why penalize Prust? He's one of our most consistent performers in all three zones. Gionta is playing like garbage, too.

I'd put Gallagher in Gionta's spot. Gallagher is looking like a young Gionta, and Gionta's just looking old.

Bourque-Plkanec-Gallagher
Pacioretty-Desharnais-Galchenyuk
Gionta-Eller-Prust
Moen-White-Armstrong

Now that's a lineup!

Had we had an actual tough guy out there at that point, this would not have happened.

The tough guy wouldn't have been on the ice to prevent it

Why not? We have last change in a 6-0 game and Colton Orr is on the ice.

Why would Orr be on the ice?

Really? I don't think Colton Orr is exactly the type to be intimidated by anyone else (see his tilt with John Scott). He did what a player of his calibre always does - went after Plekanec's knee, then grabbed the nearest red sweater (Gionta). When Bourque showed up to try and pull Orr off Gionta (I guess a "real tough guy" like Orr feels the need to go after the smallest guy on the ice) Rene got a sucker punch for his efforts. Maybe, I suppose, if your hypothetical tough guy got to Orr/Gionta first then he might have prevented it, but if he's as slow as most guys like Orr is probably wasn't going to be him.

And of course the league let him off scott free. That's the problem....

This could work. I also wonder where's Cole, I guess he could be sloted in Bourque' spot. With Bourque out, I see Prust-Plekanec-Gallagher, then Pacioretty with Desharnais and Cole it worked before. Galchenyuk-Eller with the Captain and the 4th line the way it is.

There was 5 mins left in a 6-0 game. I don't think it's that surprising that a team would play 4th liners in a blowout game.

Colton Orr is one of the top fighters and probably would welcome a fight with another heavyweight since he himself is one. Like Chara, "punishing" him is extremely difficult because he's one of the best.

You know what would have been the best way to have prevented the Colton Orr gongshow that day?

Not get blown out by the ******* Leafs. The Habs gave up by the 3rd, and that's what gave them time to do that.

Bourque Plek XX
