Streit would be another good pickup especially with how horrendous the bottom pairing has been this year.

Panthers haven't won a playoff series in 17 years. There's been one season in their entire existence where they've won one. What has there been to build off? A fluke playoff appearance last year? Something ELSE to consider. The Panthers have never played their main rivals (TB) in the playoffs. Ever. So that good old fashioned hatred that Bruins fans feel towards the Habs and others? Where would that have come from? Regular season meetings in November?

Of course the BOG is shortsighted as hell. They take someone's expansion fees, but won't revenue share so they can grow these fanbases properly in areas where people weren't born loving the game. That means rinks (ice and roller), subsidizing playing fees, etc. That's how you grow a fanbase in large American cities and down the road get progressively larger TV deals. That's how the Panthers current situation could benefit the NHL. Instead we get "Here's hockey, play under our terms, and love it now" Typical NHL business strategy. Can't see more than 5 minutes in front of their face.

I would really hate to see that. Briere is such a ***** and I would HATE to root for him, as talented as he is.

Plus I wouldn't want to give the Flyers are prospects that turn out to good players.

Bruin will never pay 13 mil of whatever to buy him out so no need to worry...His contract is a cap killer.

$5m in cash left on his deal after this season, so about $3.3m to buy him out. And you'd have to because he has a NTC and knows 1. we can't keep him with the cap going down and 2. He can get more than $1.7 over 2 seasons if he's bought out.

Another thing is homer seems to get the better of almost every trade he makes, I have faith in chia, but holmgren knows how to deal.

Probably to Quebec. My guess is that's at least somewhat forward thinking. Works for the Bruins. Less travel.

Would be awesome to see an original six only day with Chicago and NYR playing against each other TOR-DET and BOS-MTL

I'm at the point with Thornton not looking like himself I'd be for bringing one of these super goons in. If nothing else so I can stop reading about how much the Bruins need one. Always been a McGrattan fan and he can dress against the Leafs and Sabres and sit in the playoffs and against actually good teams like the Penguins.

Even as a 13th forward it would be great. He's a better option than Pandolfo or MacDermid.

I'd love to see the Leafs pick him up and dress Orr, McGrattan, McLaren and Brown.

McGrattan is pretty much useless. The Bruins already had him and he stayed in Providence.

Thornton has been pretty useless since Scott demolished him I see no problem in getting McGrattan and dressing him for games against Buff, Tor and others.

Wasting a roster spot on a goon that can't skate makes those other teams more likely to beat the Bruins.

The comedy of watching that line try to skate would be hilarious

GAGNE BACK!
The Flyers have acquired LW Simon Gagne from Los Angeles for a conditional 4th round draft pick, previously acquired from Phoenix.
