Alderson, Clarke and Fisk can go on loan, though I doubt all three would.
In theory, Rochat is one of Vancouver's Canadians; he's technically a Swiss player, though.

Apparently Seattle is trying to land Obafemi Martins from Levante; that would be a huge get for the Sounders.

I know, that's what I mean. He counts as one of our three Canadians which would allow us to loan our younger Canadians out.

Ah, just clarified by checking the MLS rules; didn't realize Rochat counted as a domestic player. From the rules:

Quote:
◦Players with the legal right to work in Canada are considered Canadian domestic players (i.e., Canadian citizen, permanent resident, part of a protected class).

Tyler Green suggested Carlye Mitchell is a prime candidate to be loaned out to Edmonton.

I'm liking the new blood! Got some group tix going 25 strong to the opener!

My fave lineup on paper:

BK

Lee - DeMerit - O'brien - Rochat

------ Laveron - Koffie -----

Kobayashi - Manneh - Salgado

----------Mattocks----------

Camilo and Paulo Jr as Subs for Manneh and Salgado. Miller for Mattocks if need be. Reo-Koker in the mix.

We go depth now!

Koffie would need to wait until sept 3rd 2015 before being eligible for Canada (I think) or get special permission from FIFA (which shouldn't be a problem since he's been a Canafian resident since he was 19)

I have a very low opinion of Paolo Jr. But to think we have NRC, Camilo, Miller, Harvey, Hurtado and Davison as bench players...

The only people these days who complain about the Whitecaps not being Canadian are bitter TFC fans. Technically 2 of our "Canadians" are better than any of theirs.

So are most of our residency players aside from maybe Doneil Henry and Ashtone Morgan. We have consistently had as many, or more, players playing on Canada's youth teams compared to TFC and Montreal.

Ben Fisk and Caleb Clarke are playing key roles for the Canada men's U20 team who, by the way, are playing USA today for a spot at the U20 World Cup. Daniel Stanese is another top residency product who signed in Germany (I'm still pretty peeved about the Caps not signing him but it may have been out of their hands). Ben McKendry is also on the squad.

For those of you working up lineups, Salgado is injured again I think; hasn't played a game all preseason.

And unfortunately Canada lost to the US in U-20s today, no U-20 World Cup for us.

Tonight's the night for the season ticket holder meet and greet. Anyone going?

I didn't make it off the waitlist, so no dice for me.

I'm going. Obviously understand the need to keep it relatively small but I know I got quite lucky and saw the email almost immediately.

The new Caps kit is all right.

I really like the idea behind the new Colorado kit:

The names of all season's ticket holders are embedded in the jersey.

As long as BELL or any corporate logo is splashed on the front of a caps jersey, I will never buy one. Unfortunate. The "kit" is underwhelming. I also hate that they change them every year.

Doesn't sound like a super high risk signing as this doesn't use a DP slot, though depending on how he does it could get there in the future. Rennie apparently did a good job on selling the club to Reo-Coker instead of Portland (woot!).

Just very happy about everything in this signing, it really gives us that extra strength & not to mention depth in the middle of the park that is so huge.

(small article from the Sun)

After watching the Whitecaps throughout last year, I thought that while the attacking and defending pieces they had were good, they lacked the link up in midfield with a deep lying playmaker who could win balls and then make the pass up front to the attacking midfielders.

When he's on his game, I think Reo-Coker can provide it, though from what I remember him from the EPL, he does have discipline problems from time to time.

The new TFC kit this year is pretty awesome, they should put these guys in charge of personnel decisions:
